Because they bought Teeter and don't want to compete with themselves

Plus their stores are old as fuck

This kind of sucks as Kroger has a lot of the best deals on a variety of stuff and is a nice alternative to Harris Teeter and Food Lion (the main alternatives in my area). On the other hand it will be interesting to see what takes their places, though in 8 of 14 of their current locations it appears to be Harris Teeter.

Profit margins are probably better at Teeters too.

Wut. Kroger has owned Harris Teeter since 2014.

The one that Food Lion is buying is the Falls/Strickland one, Across from the post office

Crunch Fitness is taking over the one at Lynn and Creedmoor

The Kroger at Creedmoor & Strickland will be a Harris Teeter. Which will make 4 Harris Teeters in a 6-mile radius on Creedmoor

It's gonna be weird to have a bunch of Harris Teeters with a Food Lion and Lowes Foods here or there.

But Kroger sucks and has always sucked.

Even when they're genuinely convenient, it always feels like a pain to get in their parking lots, so you might as well drive an extra mile down the road to avoid them.

Cause they suck.

I'm guessing a vacant spec building that quickly becomes urban / suburban blight.

The HT in Fuquay is moving to the Kroger. The Kroger that is ridiculous to get into and out of. Not looking forward to the switch.

That fucking figures, as I don't have a single HT within a 6 mile radius of my house, south of downtown.

Maybe if I'm lucky the Kroger on 70 @ Timber Drive will turn into a Teeter.

And yet I live in a 600 home development with an average price of around $250k.

Nonetheless, the shopping center that Kroger (on 70) is located in is pretty shitty. Definitely not a place HT would set up shop unless the entire center received a face lift.

Also the Kroger gas station on Creedmoor/Lynn has signs on the pumps that they’re closing down tonight at 11P. So if you have fuel points, better use them today

I always thought the Garner on Timber had a nice beer selection. Plenty of craft rotation

My husband shops at the Kroger in Cary (High House/Maynard) everyday for work and the manager told him that they are not getting any more trucks in. Once they're out of something, that's it. So some Kroger's might be closing a lot sooner than August 14th

Lots of ITB isn't the market for HT, HT made the decision years ago that rather than try to compete with low cost grocers they would offer service and selection. Its a strategy that's worked well for them in a market segment that has incredibly low margins

The delis at the two Kroger’s on Creedmoor have closed

The Kroger on Creedmoor/Strickland will close for about a year to be remodeled into a Harris Teeter

What Kroger on 70? The one on Hillsborough Rd in Durham? Or the one in Garner? If anything the one in Garner looks a lot newer.
