Skull forts plus 3 fetch quests which result in a weak selection of cosmetics...meh

I wanted this game to be good and think it is gorgeous, but it's super shallow and got old quick

This game is amazing. When you have a good galleon crew it's the most fun I've had gaming in years.

^i totally concur. Was so tired of these dopey shooters like division and destiny, with their dopey "gear grinding" schemes. This game is all about team work, not who grinded enough hours to get the legendary rifle of zod or whatever. The sailing is amazing, and graphics great.

Really fun and unique Coop experience.

I remember when I got Hard Light in Destiny and finally perfected my shotgun build in Division.

Yargghhh youre wrong, this game doesn't get tiring with friends matey. But it might not be for you twitch shooters, item grind junkies types.

^It probably is terrible for non social types, or teens who like the item grind games and paying for loot boxes and such. (Division, Destiny) God what a waste of time those games were.

But for those of us that see games as social events, its the best game on xbox one right now. Its all about that Pirating skill, and new friends who buy the game later don't have to play catchup to be the same level as you. Its an equal playing field.

I hope they add a mode thats straight up combat. Where you just go and kill people and take their loot. Just swim up to them and blow a gunpowder barrel.

i'm none of those things. And it sounds fucking miserable. I'd prefer to be social in games that take skill and are fun.

But by all means, go ahead and continue sailing around grabbing the same treasure chests over and over and over again for literally zero reward. lol. fucking miserable

you literally grind the same 3 quests all for gold to buy completely cosmetic items. to argue this game isn't purely based on a repetitive grind isn't just stupid, it's completely false.

my main gripe about the game is the lack of other people. I want more combat and actual rewards for combat

^youre playing the game wrong if you're grinding quests. You ppl have been so condition to grind gridn grind, you think that is what good games are supposed to do. When the trunk crew sails, we sail for fun and adventure, not gridning for pretend weapons. Skull Fort baby... Ship to ship combat. So much I'll and excitement . I can do with out some ethereal "reward" . Sorry guys, you can't take your hoard of destiny guns with you.

^Yeah I much more enjoy this game by cruising around finding people to fuck with instead of doing the quests.

Best time ever was sneaking onto a ship someone had anchored while they were ashore, sailing off with it., dropping anchor and screwing up the sails before they had a chance to respawn on it and then sinking it while they were sitting ducks.

Also love swimming up underneath an unsuspecting ship and dropping a gunpowder barrel underneath and hearing everyone onboard panic and freak out while I sneak aboard and blunderbuss the person trying to patch the hull.

Also, I think it is totally fair to criticize the lack of content for a full price $60 dollar game but still enjoy and praise the basic premise and execution.

^100% agree. The core game is so much fun, is so original, and this makes incredible unique moments like the story you posted. The game definitely lacks variety in the standard Grindy quest packages for ppl into that , but the game is only gonna gain more content as the year goes on.

how are you finding people to fight? in a 3 hour session we might see 2 boats and most of the time they run away
