Shit was disgusting. The public school I went to in NC made us do it but I convinced my mom to say that I didn't have to. Then we moved overseas and the DOD schools did it but my mom wouldn't opt me out because the water there didn't have fluoride in it. We used to find creative ways to get around doing it like pretending to put it in our mouths and swish but really smash one of those thick-ass brown paper towels into our cup and hide the liquid. Was this something all NC public schools did or just certain districts?

^^^^^Get out of here with that HP shit.^^^^He was practicing for his future husband.^^I knew I remembered a thread about it but thought maybe it had been purged.^I know. Why'd it have to be so nasty?
3/4/2018 12:29:03 PM
It was bubblegum flavored. As in it was flavored like the gum stuck to the bottom of the desks.
3/4/2018 12:30:12 PM
I went to school in Western New York and we did swish too. I don't remember it being particularly nasty though. Try drinking two ounces of pro-stat like my patients now that shit is nasty.
3/4/2018 1:22:06 PM
we did it. i never thought it was bad. some kids hated it.
3/4/2018 10:13:03 PM
Mine did back in the 80s.
3/4/2018 10:29:41 PM
Was that before or after you fucked your sister?
3/4/2018 10:40:11 PM
went to school in NC...did swish through elementary school. it was bubble gum flavored and not very good iirc
3/5/2018 7:20:39 AM
^Yep, it was pink and given to us in that little cup. Then we had to spit it back out. Do they still do this, or has the fear of AIDS and other diseases caused them to stop. Also, did anyone ever have that dental office bus come to their school for a week?
3/5/2018 8:10:08 AM
My elementary school had that program, but for some reason I didn't have to do it. Instead, I would make if my job to make each and every person around me laugh and spew that stuff everywhere. It usually worked like a charm; it doesn't take much to make first-graders lose their shit.
3/5/2018 8:28:54 AM
Ah yeah I remember that shit. They gave it to me when I first started school in the USA and I had no idea wtf it was. But I was young and a teacher gave it to me so I was like "Okay whatever". It was also that nasty fake bubblegum flavor. Just fucking make it taste like mint, damn.
3/5/2018 8:52:05 AM
is this the thing where they look at your teeth and everyone gets a toothbrush and toothpaste? (i think in 1st grade?)[Edited on March 5, 2018 at 9:03 AM. Reason : .]
3/5/2018 9:02:35 AM
No. They bring around this tray full of small cups filled with probably a half ounce of ucky liquid flouride. Everybody in the class had to swish for like a minute then spit it back out.
3/5/2018 9:07:17 AM
PaulISdead would always gargle it before spitting.
3/5/2018 9:16:23 AM
3/5/2018 9:35:34 AM
Yeah I remember this shit. I don't think it served any purpose.
3/5/2018 11:17:23 AM
I did it. I mean, yeah, it tasted bad. But rather than go out of my way to come up with creative ways to get out of it I just swished for 30 seconds and went on with my life.
3/5/2018 11:23:09 AM
^^^Times have changed. They used to not care as much about blood on uniforms and other things like that. Now they do.
3/5/2018 1:26:32 PM
are you posting from 1990?
3/5/2018 1:34:22 PM
Yes, in the 90's no one was paranoid about AIDS.
3/5/2018 1:54:03 PM
Yep. I did it, didn't bother me. I wasn't a little brat, most of the time.
3/5/2018 3:39:52 PM
I went to a New Kids on the Block concert in 1991 and my mom thought they were gay so she told me if I met them not to shake hands with them if either of us had open cuts on our hands. True story.
