I had someone try the old speaker scam on me about a month ago. Was the first time I'd seen it in like 20 years.

The guy who approached me recently was in a mini van and before he could even stop his vehicle he put his head out the window and said "hey man, I just got divorced, I live right around the corner and I got these such and such speakers." I should have asked what his address was but I just told him to find somebody else and to fuck off.

I bought a pair! I still use them. I bought a pair of tower speakers for $100 from a guy selling out of the back of a moving truck in the parking lot of the Foodlion on Western Blvd. I knew it was probably a scam and the speaker were not worth $2k like they said, but they actually weren't terrible. Easily worth $100.

I was approached with this incredible deal by two fine gentlemen in a white van at the gas station at gorman and hillsboro. Their loading people had accidentally put an extra pair of speakers in the van so they could offer me a great deal on them . I did not fall for the swindle. They were indeed dogg digital. But this was circa 2003.

It's funny getting these guys under a hundred for the pair. I got some, god, 20 years ago? They work and sound just fine, for $80 towers.
