TOTALLY REDEEMED HIMSELF
1/27/2018 2:50:07 PM
Fucking balled today. Good for him.
1/27/2018 2:51:06 PM
he should move back to shoot his three throws
1/27/2018 2:56:19 PM
most 3 pointers made in a game without a miss in Dean Dome history

NCAA Player of the Week!Although, I'd say Markell had the better game against UNC
1/29/2018 10:34:49 AM
^Same. Glad Al got some props but Markell was the mvp

ACC Player of the Week!
1/29/2018 7:16:41 PM
played well vs Wake. for the most part, he's been playing smarter lately and is forcing things less. still prone to some bad decisions and bad shots, but he's improved.
2/19/2018 7:48:06 AM
hero ball --> semi-hero ballsome improvement made
2/19/2018 10:22:52 AM
Yeah...he still does too much at times. But he’s gotten better.
2/19/2018 10:25:20 AM
I would argue the main difference is that shots are going in now. He still takes some bad shots and makes some of crazy drives, but he's been a little hotter. Hope it stays that way!
2/19/2018 10:26:15 AM
he's still streaky at times (2/7 on 3 vs Syr, 1/8 vs VT, 0/4 vs ND) but largely, i think he's taking better shots which is probably leading to a better % and more games of "good Al". if you look at the last 5 games - which doesn't include the 7-7 game vs UNC - he's shooting just 29.6% from 3. and that's because in the VT and ND games he went 1-12 on 3. throw the UNC game in there and he's 44% in those 6 games. his 3PT % is comparable to his season averge lately if you take the UNC game out of the equation...but more telling, to me, is that in those 5 games he's shooting 44% on FGs overall. which is up from his season average of 36% (and 34% on the season prior to the last 5 games). i think he's taking better shots, finishing around the rim, and generally not just jacking up 3s.
2/19/2018 11:27:19 AM
I think we're saying the same thing, making shots includes 2's. That said, some of those shots at the rim are still those lone wolf 1-on-3 drives, but he is converting more. Also I don't think anyone considers that VT game a good one for him.

Three straight good games. If we get the good Al we were hoping for all along for the rest of the year this is a different team - namely, the one that beat Arizona and UNC

Yep. No question. Al Freeman has been a game changer for us the last 4 games. I'm glad he turned it around.
2/26/2018 9:05:53 AM
He's been killing it. Still a few no, no, no, yes moments each game but those used to be just be no, no, no, NO.
2/26/2018 9:46:19 AM
Stepped up in ACC big time, and help us win some big games. Best of luck in the future.

Love you, Freeman. Wish you had more time with us.
3/15/2018 7:00:36 PM
Thanks for a fun season. Dude balled the hell out and single handedly won us some games.
3/15/2018 7:01:21 PM
At the begging of the season, I was concerned he would be more of an Al Harrington and less like a Trevor Lacey. Glad he proved me wrong. It was great watching him play within the system, rather than just try to get his. I really think if Gott had coached this team, it would have been a different story.
3/15/2018 11:16:37 PM
did Al Harrington even play college ball?and Lacey and Gott made a Sweet 16, so not sure what you mean[Edited on March 15, 2018 at 11:19 PM. Reason : .]
3/15/2018 11:18:46 PM
Adam Harrington. Who the hell is Al Harrington? I've had too much whiskey. My point is, Gott had a reputation of letting the players do what they want. Especially on bad teams.
3/15/2018 11:24:27 PM
Much appreciated, best of luck in the future. Dude was our only bright spot in the ACC and NCAA tournaments. No one else showed me much.

dude gave it all everynight good or bad
