I'm confused. Did this kid get bullied or is he part of some white power family that's scamming people with a gofundme page?

seems like the answer is, yes, the kid got bullied. and yes, the family/mother appears to have (at a minimum) problematic political and social views (if not outright racist views).that video was heartbreaking and the attention and support he got from celebrities was really cool...but what was ever the point of donating money to the family? money ain't gon stop the bullying. without knowing all the details of this...was the mom the one that set up gofundme or was that done by the public? not saying the mother is perfect or anything, but weren't people basically throwing money at the family without thinking twice? that's on the people donating, not on the mama. furthermore...if the family did need financial support, regardless of bullying, are we only gonna support people that pass a thorough background check to make sure their political and social views match up with our own? the internet rushed to his defense...and as is the case with most things, there is an aspect to this that isn't totally pure. kinda typical for the internet. one minute X is the new best thing ever. then it turns out X had some racist tweets a couple years ago and now we don't like X anymore.
