Anyone else watch?
9/11/2017 2:38:23 PM
Yup. I thought it was great. Actually decent plotline surrounded with comedy.
9/11/2017 3:09:11 PM
sitting on DVRwill watch at some point
9/11/2017 3:20:05 PM
I assumed I would hate it but liked it, I'm surprised the reviews are all bad
9/11/2017 3:31:35 PM
it was alright.
9/11/2017 4:03:02 PM
I think the reviewers weren't expecting something as serious and more like Family Guy. I enjoyed it, but some of the jokes fell flat
9/11/2017 4:47:01 PM
Bbehe would watch this garbage.
9/11/2017 8:37:20 PM
9/11/2017 9:22:56 PM
It was alright. Hopefully it'll improve over the first few episodes.
9/12/2017 12:07:07 AM
I liked it and will continue to watch. It was funny without being over the top, which Family Guy often is. I understand how folks could be confused, but I like the half serious/half funny nature of the show.
9/12/2017 7:22:17 AM
that's some high budget star trek fan fiction
9/12/2017 11:45:55 AM
I'll just stick to watching Salvation.
9/12/2017 11:51:06 AM
I thought it was okay. Will give it a few more episodes. I get that it is a homage to Star Trek, but I feel like it didn't quite have enough jokes to be a legitimately different series.
9/12/2017 1:57:46 PM
To me, I just don't find Seth MacFarlane stuff very entertaining to me.
9/12/2017 2:37:03 PM
I really enjoyed it and will continue to watch. I'm also surprised about all the bad reviews.
9/12/2017 10:16:27 PM
9/12/2017 11:52:27 PM
I liked it. As sci-fi and homage to Trek, I think they did a great jobKind of a weird mixture of comedy and seriousness but I’m willing to see where it goes
9/13/2017 4:51:25 PM
Second episode was much better than the first.
9/17/2017 9:52:18 PM
Really good second episode.
9/17/2017 9:59:36 PM
9/18/2017 8:56:22 AM
You'll like the 2nd episode Wraith, it was more serious and none of the humor felt forced/lowbrow
9/18/2017 10:05:19 AM
another enjoyable episodewhich means this show will definitely get cancelled
9/18/2017 12:01:03 PM
USS Oroville, Firefly class?
9/18/2017 8:44:57 PM
Watched the second episode. Way better than the first. I still feel as if the show hasn't figured out what it is doing with the mix of comedy and seriousness, but I will continue to watch. The part at the beginning when they were talking about eggs did make me lol though.
9/19/2017 11:16:34 AM
Surprisingly serious episode this week. I'm 100% sure Trek wouldn't haven ended it with the operation going through.
9/23/2017 4:01:20 PM
Yea and a lot of critics and bloggers are saying that Seth handled it all wrong as further proof of his misogyny (which was cited earlier in the show by the way he kept bringing up Kelly's infidelity). I think many are throwing their lot in with Discovery and not happy that somebody has created a show that could steal some of Discovery's thunder.Fuck them, I like it. I also am planning to watch Discovery.
9/23/2017 9:24:26 PM
You actually going to buy CBS All Access or whatever?
9/23/2017 11:28:43 PM
Uh, yea sure....
9/24/2017 7:17:41 AM
This show is bad.
9/24/2017 11:53:10 AM
Watched the first 2 episodes so far. The captain and ex-wife discussing why their marriage failed to the villain captain at the end of the 1st episode should've been in the trailers. It's more low-key humor than Family Guy, which, thank God. I don't think it's going to be in Star Trek: Discovery's favor that this parody of Star Trek is getting aired at the same time. The Orville is going to be able to pick fun at the genre while still telling a halfway decent story. Star Trek will probably be no nonsense dead serious don't smile. (Still have it on the DVR mind.)The "zookeeper" in Episode 2, was that Quark's actor? I kept listening to the guy and felt like I was listening to a Ferengi.[Edited on September 29, 2017 at 8:20 PM. I really enjoyed last weeks episode. This show is definitely hitting closer to Star Trek than Discovery, at least for me.
10/3/2017 5:50:18 PM
Man, I just can't for the life of me see how ppl would actually prefer this hot garbage to discovery. Only thing more old school trek about it is the awful production values. I've been blown away so far with the discovery. Has exceeded the expectations of this old trekkie.
10/3/2017 9:51:13 PM
^Probably because Orville is free and Discovery isn't?
10/4/2017 8:53:00 AM
Couple reasons why I like the Orville better right now (both shows are good though)The crew of the Orville is actually likable. So far everyone on the Discovery comes across as a huge asshole (except Cadet Tilly, but that's another extreme)I'd actually want to live in the Orville world, Discovery seems more dark and just 'WARRRR!' Orville isn't a prequel to anythingOrville is more like TNG, Discovery is more like an even darker version of DS9. DS9 was my favorite trek series, but it slowly eased you into war and death to learn to like the characters and care about them, Discovery isn't doing that.
10/4/2017 4:47:41 PM
^^ Pretty much.I've got Orville on DVR and am catching up, and so far it's worth the series recording.I watched ST: D when it aired and it intrigued me, but not enough to pay monthly for it. I'll probably wait until the first season is over and do a trial subscription and binge watch it all.[Edited on October 4, 2017 at 5:35 PM. Reason : no smiles. ]

Leg amputation. (production glitch on that if anyone noticed it)Charlize Theron's character was pretty good.
10/11/2017 9:56:03 PM
Caught up over the weekend. Am actually really enjoying this.
10/17/2017 9:10:49 AM
Loved last night's episode.
10/27/2017 8:06:10 AM
yep, still better than Star Trek: Discovery
10/27/2017 9:11:53 AM
10/27/2017 12:58:30 PM
accidentally saw last night's episode. poor scripting, bad acting, and general awkwardness.]
10/27/2017 7:08:49 PM
They’re obviously pushing against budget constraints, and having to marginally be comedic. Also should keep in mind season 1 of TNG had the Traveller.Orville vs Discovery though is making it very clear the more episodic format is crucial to Trek.I’m glad the Tardigrade episodes are done now for Discovery but 3 tardigrade episodes was too many... they’re milking this spore drive thing too much too. But I’m still enjoying both shows.
10/28/2017 1:25:30 AM
Worst episode last night, but okayRenewed for 2nd season
11/3/2017 6:24:36 AM
11/5/2017 3:38:26 PM
I can't believe they renewed this garbage. Oh wait yes I can, it's Fox.
11/6/2017 10:30:33 AM
The "hey, this society is just like 21st century Earth" was complete bullshit, but the "Majority Rule" episode was good and incredibly Star Trek-ish.
11/8/2017 8:04:28 PM
as a die hard star trek fan i find this show exceptionally entertaining. hell the doctor is ben sisko's wife (and he was the best captain in star trek).and family guy references... mom.. mom... mom... etc
11/10/2017 12:28:42 AM
justinh524's fifth comment in this thread about a show he hates.^Yea my wife put that as her ring tone when our kids call her, so we loved that.[Edited on November 10, 2017 at 9:21 AM. Reason : ]

http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/ustv/news/a843131/seth-macfarlane-orville-season-1-cut-short/So we are losing the season 1 finale and it will now be tacked onto the start of season 2? That is some FOX SciFi TV shit right there in my opinion.[Edited on November 16, 2017 at 10:23 AM. Reason : ]
