Pre-ordered. I am sure it will be at least as good as D1 so no plans to cancel regardless of the beta. I am grown, I can burn $60 if I want to. I have done it already on the last few Call of Duty games

It's weird. I really like the changes made to Setinel Titan 2 different cover shields one that reloads instantly, The classic ward of dawn bubble, or DPS captain america/relic shield mode but I agree with the majority of the Hunter outrage on their useless class ability being a janky version of shadowstep and Arcstrider just looking like a re-skinned Bladedancer albeit with apparently a bunch of combos that you could prob learn to do.

I had 2 titans and a hunter in D1 and Nightstalker was all I ever played and really enjoyed the Invis grenades so hopefully they'll keep that subclass and just don't have it for the beta.

I never played a Warlock but I always roll with Twilight Garrison on Striker so the fact that they get this style evade just throws more shade at the hunters.

The kinetic/energy/power weapons are odd as well I don't really know how to juggle them and kinetic just seems useless with like 800 rounds of energy auto rifle.

4 man PVP is not at all interesting to me since I never play "Competitive" (how they can even use that word without dedicated servers and kids with lag switches and 56k internet teleporting all over the gd map I don't know) but usually lone-wolf it and can typically keep up at least a 1.0 KDR most of the time higher. The maps feel too small and unless you're all on voice chat and working as a team there's no real way for someone to just jump into crucible to pass the time or as a change of pace from PVE. I just wasn't having fun like in D1.


I did enjoy the Strike tho and Homecoming and it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

lots of people on reddit mad at the balancing. seems like pvp concerns nerfed things like super, grenade, and ability cooldown rates in pve. hopefully gear will help with this by decreasing cooldowns. i agree, the "space magic" and power weapons was what made D1 fun, so hopefully bungie can make some changes before release.

Bubble is still there. You just have to hold those bumpers for a bit longer than usual. But then you don't get cap America shield.

thank god if true. i understand that there has to be a cut off to the beta build, but it is not like they are releasing anything physical. releasing a beta of an old build with known issues is just plain dumb. they are going to hide behind the fact that it is "only a stress test" but the reality is that it is basically a demo to a lot of people. if their first experience is this build then they are more likely to not buy the full game.

their main message should have at least been that they know about the cooldown issues and that it has been tweeked in the current build. bungie is so reactive, not proactive.

i played a couple hours friday night, but havent picked it up since then. i probably wouldnt buy this if i didnt already know what destiny was.

Agreed. I haven't had a chance to go back and play after the patch so I cannot verify the changes. The boards seemed fairly positive after the patch however a ton of bitching still continues because of the obvious PVP influence on PVE.

You are definitely right about being reactive tho. That patch came out right after Best Buy got a ton of pre-order cancellations. Then they extended the beta for 2 days. BB had so many cancellations that they started charging people to cancel I believe.

Too much muscle memory to overcome both with console Destiny and WoW on my G13. I will probably stick with PS4 but damn if hand cannons are god mode with mouse aim.

I played today. solid 60fps vsync with everything on max at 4k. the game was a lot like halo though - very uninspired, very repetitive, mostly circle strafe and LoS. the classes only felt meaningful when you used the special move. cool music and graphic effects, but it felt over the top for generic mob waves that took no special tactics to take down.

first destiny i've ever played and i'm having a blast. playing on ps4 and it's been a nice break from PC gaming. I really like the strikes. Playing a hunter as gunslinger atm and its pretty cool.

slowly but surely got to 280 on my hunter (gunslinger). but i'm not convinced it's the class i want to play. it's definitely caused me to get better at controller accuracy (more headshots = more damage) since i've taken a long break from console shooters. but i'm thinking of trying Titan. anyone else try titan or warlock yet? how fun is it?

They all have their pros and cons.

Starting a new class isn't so bad, once you hit level 20 switch your high powered weapons over to the alt while you grind, it'll sharply increase the average power level of whatever drops getting you up into the high 200's much easier.

I don't care for gunslinger, but I also don't really do well with hand cannons. If you have the exotic helm that fires like one massive bullet it's supposed to be decent damage on Calus. Hunters got shit on this game but I guess they're still fun to play. They have exotic boots Orpheus Rig that you can essentially re-fill your super right back up if there are enough enemies around. The invisible smoke bomb is useful for killing watchers on chest runs in the raid and for nightfalls when you need to get a res. Also makes the torrent nightfalls really fun when grenades/melee recharge a lot.

I've always played Titan and I stuck with that as my main in D2. They come with great end-game utility (auto-reload shield) and double pulse grenades which melt things and the extra resilience is always nice. The reload shield makes shitting out 5 or 6 rockets in a row possible for insane boss dps.

Never played a Warlock in D1 as I couldn't get used to the jump, but finally decided to make one in D2 and once you figure out that you have to double tap jump to accomplish the same thing as Hunter/Titan it makes the class much more playable. I've been toying around with Blink in PVP and it's pretty fun. Void warlock with Devour is just nonsense you can solo heroic glimmer drills quite easily. They have Healing Rift and Empowering (dps) rift and the arc warlocks can pick this charge thing that goes off and hits enemies.

If you can stomach doing the intro 23498234 times just make one of each class (they nerfed the way you used to gear a same-class alt by transferring gear like in D1). Get some of those tokens from Tess that increase XP and you can grind out public events and Crucible on your alt then just go back and do story while your light is overleveled if you want to breeze through.

I have a titan and hunter. Have both right at the cusp of 300 with my best weapons. Enjoy the titan most but im best at pvp with my hunter and foetracer helmet

Im about done with this as well. I dont know enough people playing to get a raid group together and the raid this time is built on communication moreso than any of the past ones. Beating it with a random group is almost impossible. Especially since you cant find 5 patient people who are willing to do an activity more than 3 times. Or you get an idiot that doesnt understand the game mechanic

yeah i am actually really considering canceling my pc preorder (and this game is the reason i got a gaming pc). i am worried about the legs of this game...lots of negative comments coming out especially about the prestige raid. it is really surprising that the endgame is the way it is with luke smith running it.

plus there are so many other games coming out this fall.

I think this game is still a good game. I am enjoying the raid personally. I still do some of the milestones on all 3 characters every week. I'm 305 on everything. People are looking back at D1 with extremely rose-colored glasses. D1 had A LOT OF PROBLEMS. It wasn't some masterpiece that didn't need any updates or changes.

My biggest complaint is the state of PvP which is where it won't hold me as #1 for 3 years like D1. I can't enjoy it if I'm playing solo. I just get teamshot to death every time.

I guess I did cancel PC PreOrder and I'm not going to renew it.

Rose colored glasses or not there's no reason to log on anymore. I enjoy the raid as well but when your entire clan and raid team also has no reason to do any of the content then logging in to complete milestones isn't even rewarding. Even if there were unique rewards for Raid Guides that would give a reason to log on. Prestige is indeed bullshit and the game is just lacking whatever it was that kept us continuing to log in to D1.

Lost sectors are unique and a great idea on paper but there is literally no reason to do them.

There are no unique rewards from strikes, you can't pick what you want to do in Crucible, Iron Banner is a joke and it's like they took the one thing that people did want cosmetically and gated it so hard behind RNG that everyone I know was burned out on it after turning in hundreds of tokens just to receive reskinned guns and a lot of times gunsmith and Shaxx/Crucible guns never completing their sets.

Then they decide to postpone Trials for 2 weeks because of an emote bug.

My thoughts coming from WoW for so many years I felt kind of cheated that they invested so much time and QoL improvements in the original game and couldn't understand why the reset button was hit so hard on D2. I get that you probably start developing years before TTK or Rise of Iron but was there seriously 0 communication from the dev team and D1 live team? D2 was not sold to us as a "jump on with ur bros on reset day shoot mans then go play another game". I gave them $100 because I expected D2 to take up most of my gaming schedule.

I feel that the destiny subreddit is indeed full of salt and some but not all of it is warranted. I enjoyed the raid and I'll still watch people stream it. I'll do Prestige mode and the weekly nightfall changes especially torrent are really fun. The problem is there's no staying power or anything that keeps you logging in. TBH, I still need the arms dealer strike for the exo shotgun, but even the prestige reward is just cosmetic so who cares.

Re-downloaded warframe and going to see if I can still log in after 4 years. Apparently it looks like a completely different game now we'll see.
