Yeah but every redneck fan out there is devastated today.

That sport just lost it's biggest star.

Sounds like he's tired of having his brain rattled around inside his skull. Good for him. He should go relax on that giant pile of money and stop risking his life.

Listening to his radio transmissions since he came back it's obvious he's lost his nerve. He's like post-wreck Cole Trickle.

I'm ok with this, when the ratings go down they make the rules more exciting. Going to miss his podcast and pulling for him tho

Yep! This is a huge blow to NASCAR. Oh well, we still have Jeffrey Earnhardt.

Probably lost a bunch of fans when he disagreed with Trump's immigration policies.

Hey now, my brother still works for a major team in NASCAR!! (Joe Gibbs Racing)

I agree the sport is grabbing at strings right now, but I am hoping they find a way to make it more entertaining without just having more wrecks or more ways to earn points for drivers.

Here is the gist of NASCAR's demise: at some point people stopped enjoying watching wrecks. Probably for most, when Dale Sr. died.

no, the gist of NASCAR's demise is the move from the traditional tracks to all these cookie cutter 1.5 mile tracks in new TV markets.

Not totally true. Richmond doesn't sell out either. It isn't that hard to get tickets to most races these days.
