They should have charity/business ice fishing.

Best to feign an injury. Understand that their only goal in inviting you golfing is to embarrass and demean you in order to assert dominance.

They asked me if I was a scratching golfer I assumed that has to do with excessive divetts
4/6/2017 6:04:20 PM
i don't
4/6/2017 6:32:43 PM
if you don't play golf, just tell them thanks but no thanks bc you don't play golf.
4/6/2017 6:41:49 PM
show up in hockey gear
4/6/2017 6:44:32 PM
alternatively, go and continually ask where the hole with the windmill is at.

Avery's Angels Tournament at the Neuse on April 14th?http://averysangels.org/event/7annualgolf/

The thing about golf is it's not like other sports where you can show up and squeak by. It takes a ton of practice just to not make a fool out of yourself. If they golf they'll just be standing around most of the time waiting on you and they should know this. So there should be no hard feelings if you say you don't play.

"No, thank you, but can I make a contribution instead?"
4/7/2017 7:01:41 AM
a few days before tell them you slipped down the stairs in your socks. On the day of the event show up to the first tee and just be like nah I can't do this.

some charity golf events are just drive around and drink a lot events, i participate in those. the ones were anyone actually cares about golf i'll participate if its best ball or something and the group doesn't care that i'm terrible otherwise i decline.

If it is a best ball tournament, do it. Just tell them you suck up front I play in a lot of work related tournaments and have had people that suck play with us before. In best ball, while you may not contribute, you don't really slow the game up. Get a bunch of cheap balls and don't spend too much time looking for lost balls.[Edited on April 7, 2017 at 8:32 AM. Do you even have clubs? I mean that's a pretty valid question as no golf course that I've ever played at will let a player borrow someone else's club. 2 tee times = 2 sets of clubs.Perhaps they make exceptions for charity events though, I've never played in a charity tourney.

Don't play golf regularly as in I played a par three a few years ago and bogeyed most holes
4/7/2017 12:05:08 PM
If you bogeyed most holes then you certainly don't have to worry about making a fool of yourself. Bogeying most holes might be an accomplishment for a lot of players out there haha.
