So, I was in the bar section of a restaurant the other day, watching the Capitals game and having a beer. There was a lady sitting to my right, and two guys to my far left.
An interesting conversation ensued when two girls came in. I'd estimate them to be 15 or so. The girls came in, giggling and chatting and whatnot, and came up to the lady on my right. At that point, I realized that these girls were this lady's daughter. They asked her for some $$ so they could go get some candy or whatever, and then walked out of the restaurant.

Now, as the girls left (they were probably halfway to the door at this point and definitely out of earshot) one of the guys says to the other "Damn, that one girls had a nice body I'd tap that" .** I'd say the guys were about 21 or 22 years old.

The mother, upon hearing this, pipes up and says "HEY THOSE ARE MY DAUGHTERS, AND THEY'RE UNDERAGE!!1" While giving these dudes the Luigi Death Stare

The guys were just like "Oh...", and went back to their conversation about work or something.

Anyway, what do you all think about this? I mean, I can certainly understand the mother's perspective. Two grown ass men talking amongst themselves about her teenage daughter and her friend. It's disturbing to hear.
At the same time, from the guy's perspective.... they see attractive females walk into a freaking bar. They probably didn't hear the same conversation between mother and daughter that I heard. I can see why they said what they said.

What say you, TWW??

** In the most non-pedo way possible. They girls were attractive I suppose. Too young for my liking, but they had definitely gone through puberty, had breasts, etc.

I dont see the issue here all parties were probably doing what would be considered normal in their particular situation.

It was just locker room talk. The president would approve.

I mean it's super awkward because the mom was there, but you're talking about a ~5 year age difference.

Now, if your old ass was the one saying that it would be disgusting.

As long as the guys don't sexually harass, grope, or rape the girls, it's not a big deal. Eye fucking them is okay though.

Once your daughter gets to a certain age, you gotta be really loud and up front about the fact that she's your daughter before some unwitting person screws up. Like, when she comes into the office, you gotta walk her around and be all, "THIS IS MY DAUGHTER. SHE WILL BE HELPING ME THIS SUMMER BEFORE SHE STARTS HER SOPHOMORE YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL." Otherwise, your coworker will totally ask her out in the break room, and it'll be very embarrassing for everybody when she's all over it.

In this situation, Luigi Death Stare and "Oh..." are the appropriate responses from both parties. But I suppose one day we might criticize the mother for being possessive of her daughters and the men for objectifying them.

I rule no harm, no foul on any party involved. This was a good, clean outcome.

On the other hand, justinh524:

Another way to say that is a 30% age difference.

Even if you leave the age question out of it entirely, I've always thought that this:

Quote :
""Damn, that one girls had a nice body. I'd tap that""

is kind of a weird thing to say. At least, neither I nor the guys I am friends would ever say this nor anything like it, apropos of nothing, about a stranger, in public. When we have been around guys who do say something like that, we have been intensely uncomfortable.

It's not that we're aspiring "shining knights" or feminist activists or anything, and I don't think it's the objectification of a woman that we'd object to. It just seems so pathetic that you would give voice to such an unoriginal, unproductive thought that will be pointless as best and wildly offensive at worst. If an attractive woman walked by I assure you that I already noticed and did not need you to point it out. OK, you'd hit that. What am I supposed to do with that information? What is the next step of this conversation? Best case: We agree that we, too, would hit that. Or, since I'm old enough to recognize jailbait when I see it, I mock you savagely for just announcing your pedo tendencies to the table.

I don't know. It just seems like a parody of how men talk, rather than how men actually talk.

I dunno about "I'd tap that," but I openly admire other men and women around me.

For the most part, when I'm with dudes, I admire women. With women and gay men, I admire dudes.

You know, it's like that thing where you people-watch and imagine details about their lives, except instead of interesting details, you just hypothesize what they're like in bed. Depending on your company, you also giggle a lot and tell each other that you're "so bad."

Oh, I'm also 100% sure the mom in the OP is just jealous that the dudes weren't hitting on her.

All my offspring are attractive!

reading this reminded me my friends group used to call girls of a questionable age "John-chob" in reference to a guy named John we knew that would always gawk and comment on girls that looked too young. We were early 20s at the time too.
