http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-shows/detroit-auto-show/news/a32233/new-2020-ford-bronco-ranger-midsize-pickup/Interesting. I think Rangers could be hot sellers. Sometimes you want a truck, but you don't need a big one.

the world market small diesel ranger (really toyota hilux, but same concept) is the exact vehicle I wanted, but had to settle on a cayenne. the price point is kinda fucked in this segment, at least in the US. 35k for the chevy colorado diesel

ford will just add a little macho styling to the everest

today's midsize trucks suck

the dakotas kinda sucked too. at least they were affordable. they would've been awesome with a small diesel and some beefed up brakes, though.the compact nissans and toyotas were sufficient for most typical homeowner truck tasks. they were great vehicles.[Edited on January 12, 2017 at 5:18 PM. ^The S-10 was nice too.

^^My first car was a '93 Dodge Dakota in 1997. Dad then upgraded to a 1995 Dakota. They were alright for most stuff but they were rather unreliable. Both dropped the tranny at 135k miles. Since then our secondary vehicle is a 1995 Ford Ranger, stick shift and four cylinder. It has over 300k miles. I probably need to replace it but there is nothing comparable in size. Maybe I will look at one of these new Rangers. The big trucks would just be a pain in the add to drive in downtown Carrboro/Chapel Hill.

^The Dodge Caravans had terrible transmission problems too in the 90s. Chrysler made shitty transmissions back then for most of their products.

Bumping this....Anyone ordered a Bronco? Im currently waiting on one... should get it in September
7/17/2021 5:10:14 PM
A friend of mine ordered one last year and still doesn't have it, keeps getting delayed and pushed back for a litany of reasons/excuses. Hopefully you have better luck and actually get it in September.

i love the look of them. we used to have 2 or the old bronco half-cabs around the farm. nostalgic i am

They keep pushing back the deliveries because Webasto screwed up the hard tops. Might not get it until December at this point.
9/3/2021 1:28:04 PM
25% of Bronco orders so far have been manual transmission.F'ing love it.
9/7/2021 8:41:35 AM
That's really great!
9/7/2021 11:41:37 PM
Furthermore, it's probably very solid majority of the trims/configurations that could have been ordered with the manual, since you can't get it with the Sasquatch package, the big engine, etc.The counterpoint is that those who ordered the first ones probably tend towards being gearheads.
9/8/2021 11:59:32 PM
You think? I could see a lot of first orders to also be people who want the image and to be first on the block with one.
9/13/2021 6:10:59 PM
Manual will be available with Sasquatch in 22 (I think) or 23 at the latest.I would've gone manual, but this is a big ass truck and the 2.3 didn't make much sense (especially sasquatched and 4 door)They shouldve offered the 2.3 in the baby bronco and 2.7-3.0 in the big one, 3.5 on the Raptor version, but hey, what do I know.
9/16/2021 3:55:41 PM
Does Ford even have a 3.0 liter TT V6?And they can't offer the 2.3 in the Bronco Sport because all that vehicle is is a heavily modified Escape.[Edited on September 17, 2021 at 10:34 AM. Reason : ]

Ford Explorer ST has a 3.0 ecoboost.
9/17/2021 4:37:41 PM
I believe you meant to say 3.5. There's no 3.0.
