I tested that bitch out ... she aight, but not all that.

she's pretty handy, I just can't do it without feeling weird it's too science fiction for me ;3

She's used quite frequently in our house, along with cousin Siri. Great for giving us the time and weather, especially helpful for folks with visual impairments.

^ok good point thereI can't get over my aversion to it thoughI'm not worried about her recording me or anything 'cause I have nothing to hide, nor anything important to say or shareit just makes me feel less human or something

Got the Echo Dot for Christmas and enjoying it so far.Its weirder to me talking to Cortana on my PC. I got some new gear and rebuilt my desktop and only had Windows 10 now, so I pretty much had to upgrade. I am using both Cortana and Alexa a bit. Just wish that Alexa could interact with my Outlook calendar.

My problem with all these voice recognition things is I have just enough of an accent to throw it off 50% of the time. It's not convenient for me if I have to sit there and be really careful with my enunciation when I could just type something on my phone.

Sup Alexa how you doin

I know that 90% of my life is spent near a microphone of some kind (I am a quasi- semi- tinfoil hat type in this way), but this is too much for me

I've got a google home, so I have to say "hey google" which isn't quite as natural as Alexa (but still only 3 syllables at least). Although it also responds to "hey boo-boo" if I want to ask it a question about pic-a-nic baskets.

I felt the same way about writing shit down to remember it in schoolI'ws all like "I can remember this shit, and I can't read what I wrote 80% of the time anyway"I couldn't remember though, and I tried to be more descriptive in my notes for future me.Now I write things down.I don't like the "AI" stuff either; it will probably be the same sort of deal. I'll refuse to use it for a while, and eventually I'll come around.I think there's enough talk about privacy/security that we'll settle somewhere in a safe zone. That's the hope at least.[Edited on December 29, 2016 at 1:32 AM. Reason : d]

I won me an Alexa Dot a week or so ago, and just hooked it up today. So far all I've done is yell at it to add stuff to a grocery list, but even that is pretty noice.
