Loved what I saw today. Plays much wiser than his age. Solid defense, smart offense, and is not selfish with the ball. Can knock down threes and is the most well-rounded big men that we have had in decades.

He's extremely promising for sure. It remains to be seen if he will be a difference maker on defense, but our offense is clearly going to improve with him added to the lineup.

Just the pressure an agile 7 footer with range puts on a team will open things up for our wings who have already shown they can score efficiently.

Dude needs to chill out on the free throw line. That's where he gets bad fouls and lane violations.

Otherwise, he is the eye of the needle this team needed to thread between.

With him and DSJ playing like they were tonight and letting some others in...That's a good dangerous team.

We have some size to substitute in for ACC play when it gets physical.

I like this team alot now thanks to Y7.

I'm ok with a double double followed by fouling out. It's not like he's going to get the ball at the end.

I like that he has gotten more aggressive offensively. Still not a fan of watching someone his size get boxed out so often. He is also a serious liability against decent teams when we are running the press.

when he banged knees, he was more like...Hurtseven.

held my breath there as I saw our season go down the toilet while he rubbed that one out. glad he bounced back.

There's some cachet for being a big man at Georgetown. He didn't really fit Keatts system and we knew he was gone when we released him last month. No big deal to me.

25 years ago, maybe.

We all know Yurt was basically released because he doesn't fit KKs system, and he is ready to get his players installed. So while we may be thinner up front next year, in the long run, this was the right move for us.

But this makes no sense for Yurt. He basically is at least 2 years away from going pro now. He might be better served to spend the 2 years in the G league or overseas.

Also this doesn’t guarantee he goes there...could still declare for the draft, but this would guarantee he has a roster spot at Georgetown if he doesn’t stay in the draft. Especially if the new transfer rule doesn’t pass.

That yurts handlers want him somewhere else?

I think it would be a pretty big knock on Keatts if he bumped out a big as skilled as Yurt for unproven commodities. Especially since he is in the market for a grad transfer big that still doesn't really fit the system

I don't think it would be anything but a negative if Yurt is playing college basketball somewhere else next season

KK didn't just cut a player as talented as Yurtseven just because he doesn't fit a system. the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Yurt's handlers want him to be the featured guy in the offense. KK isn't gonna change his offense to cater to Yurt for one season. KK isn't forcing him out, but Yurt and Yurt's people think there is a situation that better highlights Yurt. that's speculation on my part...but it's way more reasonable than Keatts essentially forcing Yurt to leave.

I sincerely doubt Keatts would push a player as talented as Yurtseven out the door, after clearly adjusting his philosophy/gameplan to utilize him this past year to much success. I think Yurtseven/his advisors realize that he'll never be an ideal fit in this system and if he wants to fully realize his potential, he should go play in a different system.

Patrick Ewing is known as an excellent big man coach and clearly knows what it takes to be a successful big in the NBA (even disregarding his playing days and looking solely at his coaching career.) I still think there's a good chance Yurtseven goes to the NBA this year, but this decision makes sense for his career. It still sucks for me as a fan though.
