in the image you posted they mount with that tiny little tab on the bottom left, all they do is reduce your approach angle and look ugly


tacomas are popular though, so there are a million steel or tube actual bumper options available

the only disadvantage with ARB bumpers is that they never have recovery points on their bumpers because it wouldn't pass their australian crash rating. the advantage though is that they claim to be airbag safe.

Does the tacoma have factory recovery points on the front? if so its not an issue

The Tacoma does have them, for another model bumper you have to remove the passenger side point to install the bumper, but supppsdly the driver side one is not removable. being airbag safe gave me some confidence they've put some extra thought into the design.

ARB is quality, a lot of their bumpers also allow you to remove the winch without needing to remove the bumper which is a nice feature (not sure if this one doe). i'm not the hugest fan of their styling, but arb makes a really quality product.

plus you'll get some ARB stickers, if you pair those with some Yeti stickers its like +100 cool points

Ha, it has shifted as you all have educated me.

It was just for a better way to recover myself/others if slippery roads put me in a tough spot. Then i saw a friend post pictures of him off roading around Raleigh somewhere so it seemed useful if i went with him for that. I also am thinking about getting a new car soon but this truck is in 100% working condition, which makes the off roading thing more likely since I don't feel so bad about potentially beating the truck up.

So i have no clear goal, just learning about a new "thing".

there is a training center across from uwharrie that's supposed to be pretty good, i don't know much about it but i see it recommended a lot
