Hey TWW, My dad work(ed) for a cabinet company in NC for a few years. He had no history of doing a poor job or any performance issues of any kind. Three weeks ago the owner asked his opinion on Trump to which he gave his honest, negative opinion. Since that day he has not been called back into work and not had his calls returned. Can any legal action be taken or should he just move on?

Yeah after reading more about it - that seems true. Still shitty

Yeah that sucks this is generally why its best to keep political views to yourself if you are able especially when it comes to work.

Yeah he typically would never talk about these sorts of things, very soft spoken man. Must have been prodded into it

1. setup a gofundme and tell blogs/media about it2. ...3. profit

Sorry to hear about your father, but he should just move on. NC is an "at will" environment. He's not entitled to his job. Though the temptation may be there, one should practice segregating work from personal life when concerning sensitive issues such as politics, race, etc, especially when it disagrees with parties of interest (customers/clients/bosses, etc)>[Edited on September 19, 2016 at 3:40 PM. Man, how tore up must this knuckle dragging owner be if he cant even return a phone call to tell someone "ya fired" after three weeks. Mind-boggling, but fits nicely in the vindictive, conservative simpleton stereotype I've been seeing a lot of.

What company? Do they have a Facebook page?

Go public with the way he was treated? He has no legal recourse. If he was a regular employee paid on a W2 he should be eligible for unemployment since he was let go without cause.

Yea, I would go public. WRAL would eat it up.
