Premieres Oct 1st, Host/Guest TBA.

New additions: http://gothamist.com/2016/09/12/snl_new_cast_members.php
As most of us know, departing: Taran Killam, Jay Pharoah, and Jon Rudnitsky

Also of note:
Quote :
"NBC's "Saturday Night Live" is paring down its commercial load, with plans to cut about 30% of ads out of the sketch comedy show next season.
It will do this by removing two commercial breaks per episode, giving viewers more content, said Linda Yaccarino, chairman-advertising sales and client partnerships, NBC Universal."

David S. Pumpkins was an ok sketch, but I have no idea why people are freaking out about it as much as they are

I'm going to assume it's the dancers, but I'm not entirely sure

I liked the intro with Baldwin and Mckinnon breaking character and roaming around the streets.

And Bill Murray and the Cubs singing. Don't really remember any of the other skits. Mr. Shaw was okay. It was kinda neat that the Church Lady came back, but it was pretty weak.

Solange ruled and I loved "Why is Benedict Cumberbatch Hot?"

As soon as they landed Chappelle, everyone put their good sketches back in the desk drawer for a week.

SNL is on a 5 min delay, has been for decades. It's not WRAL, it's actually NBC probably censoring whatever was done. It happened the entire 1.5hr and was obviously done during controversial things Chappelle was probably saying.

he said "niggas" and "pussy"

[Edited on November 13, 2016 at 1:08 AM. Reason : it wasn't censored on WCNC in Charlotte, fyi...so it's not just the NBC network]

They "censored" a bunch of shit.

It's pathetic, and it has made me sad.

First two skits (with Chris Rock and some of Chappelle's famous characters) were great but after that it seemed like your standard SNL episode.

They censored entire sentences containing the words that they found offensive, essentially making portions of the skits unintelligible.

They also seemed to whiff on the word "pussy" during the monologue and instead censored the next part of that sentence about the boss saying that it was okay.

One of the cast members said "fucking" twice last year (or maybe year before last) when she was clearly supposed to say freaking. How would this happen on a 5 minute delay?

Yeah WRAL being pricks. If you watched it online there were no muted parts. It completely changed the monologue for me and made it much better overall.

WRAL can go grab a pussy.

I figure they knew Chapelle would be hosting and were prepared to use that delay button...also WTF with the 10 seconds? Why couldn't they just hit the word?

It was 2009. Only happened once, not twice. And led directly to motherfucking MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON.

I don't know if people were just freaking out over Chappelle, but I wasn't as impressed as everyone else was. It was pretty good, but not the "best SNL episode in years!!!" that everyone is proclaiming.

McKinnon's opening song was probably the strongest part on an emotional standpoint...but obviously it didn't add to the humor. Chappelle's monologue was probably a B. Some jokes were great...others soso. Skits were above average overall. The election party kind of sucked. The bar hook-up was decent. Breastfeeding was good...but anything Jones is in as a major part gets taken down a notch because she's just horrible. The Walking Dead honestly might have been the best...along with Mooney and Jones (exception to the Jones rule) hooking up.

^No one on here. But I woke up Sunday morning to dozens of "best SNL in years!!!" social media posts. This site doesn't have enough traffic to get a good pulse on much except for maybe NC State sports.

Give me some time on great monologues. I just know that I've been impressed by others and that I wasn't by Dave's. It was middling stand up for him.
