Oh man, obviously the most RPG Zelda game ever. I am excite.[Edited on June 14, 2016 at 4:36 PM. Reason : excite]

Whats the deal with Nintendo consoles? From what I remember they seem to not really try to compete on a level with Xbox/Play stations. They just do their own thing?
6/14/2016 4:46:49 PM
^Pretty much. Their general thing is trying out new things rather than raw power. Some are ridiculously successful like the Wii, others (lol Virtual Boy) not so much. Since there is usually something unique about the system it makes it difficult for 3rd parties to make games for them (or even port them in some cases). That's why all the Nintendo 1st party games are incredible, but most others are crap.
6/14/2016 5:09:48 PM
only thing I really got out of that trailer was that they seem to be emphasizing interacting with your environment more(looked like they added a little stealth too which should be interesting)[Edited on June 14, 2016 at 5:48 PM. Reason : k]
6/14/2016 5:47:52 PM
Looks great but I feel the urge to turn my contrast up while watching that.
6/14/2016 6:05:10 PM
According to most things I read, the playable demo was a muted down version of the actual game, to avoid spoilers. They also left out non-playable characters and towns to avoid spoilers...They said there was something like 100 playable "dungeon puzzles"...most of which are outside. To me it looks like they're trying to go back toward the original NES game.SPOILERS BELOW.......They confirmed that the villain is "calamity ganon". My thinking is some of the classic characters like goron, fish people (been a while), and gerudo return.
6/15/2016 7:28:03 AM
I love seeing all of these new additions, but they will have to fix a lot of the immersion breaking quirks from the last few games to fully get my buy-in.-First time you pick up an item *after turning on the game*, Link lifts the item above his head and you get a blurb of text describing it. This is good for the special dungeon items you receive. But maybe I do not need to see a description of blue/red rupee for the umpteenth time. Even the small items used for crafting in Skyward Sword became entirely tedious to see described over and over. Its 2016, come on . . .-There needs to be a quick equip and quick cast for certain interactions. For instance, in Twilight Princess to switch between human/wolf required some sort of menu trigger with a confirmation dialog. That needed to be quick-cast and not break to a mini-cut scene. Make the wolf/Link start glowing and <poof> into the switched form without any cuts.-Some enemies should require special tactics to defeat, but holy leaping Jesus not all of them. I HATED Skyward Sword because everything had a gimmick to kill, even the plants that spit things at you. "Hey, there's another trivial enemy which will require 30 seconds to kill because I have to wait for them to show their one particular weakness!" ---Really I am just hoping that combat feels like . . . combat. Non-boss combat was pretty epic in Twilight Princess, but it was complete and utter tedium in Skyward Sword. That is the only Zelda game I never finished; I was bored out of my mind after the third dungeon. Everything was a chore. Oh, and main-quest time trials .
6/15/2016 9:27:49 AM
Is this slated for release on the Wii U, the new system or both?
6/15/2016 12:31:35 PM
Both. They said there will be no difference between them though.
6/15/2016 12:46:56 PM
Both, like Twilight Princess
6/15/2016 12:47:20 PM
100% agree with CapnObvious' list. Game looks great, can't wait to get it... next year
6/15/2016 2:05:01 PM
eh not sure I agree with Capn's last point, I haven't played skyward sword yet but I don't want them to turn it in to some hack and slash that can get repetitive
6/15/2016 3:14:59 PM
i wish this would come out on Gamecube
6/15/2016 3:53:13 PM
^^I agree with him. Nearly every fight turned into a minigame where you wait for the enemy to do something then you performed the appropriate counterattack. It was supposed to feel more 'realistic' (because you had to swing the Wii remote), but it felt stiff and janky. Most enemies telegraphed their moves too, because there's a slight delay between when you swing the Wii remote and when Link swings his sword.
6/15/2016 4:34:54 PM
^I couldn't get through Skyward Sword because of the motion controls. Really frustrating that it became more about just figuring out what the wiimote wants instead of just playing the game.
6/16/2016 10:32:47 AM
Some enemies should have special procedures to kill. That's fine with me. But not everything. Even strategic dodging can make a fight engaging. My favorite "trash" fight was in the Twilight Princess ice temple where the humanoids where just chucking ice spears at you. They themselves were pretty defenseless (excluding their dodging) but getting to them and weaving around their projectiles took strategy and was a ton of fun.My absolute worst memory of Skyward Sword was in the first dungeon. There was one door I kept going though as I tried to search and find the one missing key. Every time I went through the door back to the main area, the door would seal and be blocked by a plant which required me to wait for it to finish its telegraphed sequence so that I could do a horizontal/vertical slash. And I had to do this twice (assuming I didn't choke on the input, being the first dungeon and all). There is a far divide between hack-and-slash and having to rely on a special slash or precise shield jab for everything.

Latest trailer in case you haven't seen it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zw47_q9wbBEI'm so hyped for this game. And it comes out on a Friday. RIP weekend

^a Friday, not this Friday
2/3/2017 12:42:57 PM
Ah, I misread. Thanks for the clarification.
2/3/2017 12:48:55 PM
Ive got 6 Switch's preordered. Gonna make a mother fuckin mint.
2/3/2017 7:50:17 PM
It's because of people like you that I was never able to get a nintendo classic.
2/4/2017 8:04:22 AM
Look, Nintendo is the one at fault here. They are the ones creating this market with the preorders and lack of supply. I, like you, was the victim of this vicious cycle for years.. Id rather not say how much I paid for a Wii on the secondary market back when it launched... Ugh.Finally I decided if you can't beat them, join them! By selling 2 of them, I will get my switch for free. I just decided to be the predator and not the prey anymore.Nintendo can end this by stopping this artificial hype bullshit. They are to blame.[Edited on February 4, 2017 at 9:39 AM. Reason : M]
2/4/2017 9:36:29 AM
Yeah rail against scalpers all you want, but they're not the reason Nintendo shipped 1-2 units a week of the NES classic to stores.
2/4/2017 11:34:34 AM
Exactly, I looked at it as- the market is going to exist regardless of whether I participate or not. I'm honestly not a fan of scalping either, but Nintendo created this crazy secondary market where they are letting private ppl make some pretty easy money/sell 1 Switch, get their own for free basically. The market is gonna be there regardless, might as well use it.

Already planned DLC announced for this year that goes on sale at launch.$20 gets you:Expansion pack bonus (available from launch day, March 3rd, 2017)-3 new Treasure Chests-found in the Great Plateau-contains useful items-Includes exclusive in-game clothingDLC Pack 1 (Summer 2017)-Adds new Cave of Trials challenge-New Hard Mode-Additional map featureDLC Pack 2-New original story-New dungeon-New challengeshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbbZslUchyA
2/14/2017 1:06:47 PM
I thought Nintendo was above day of launch DLC. I was wrong.
2/14/2017 2:27:17 PM
Yeah, especially considering that all of it could have been included from the start except for maybe the new original story. Even that could probably just be little more than an extended side quest. I have to pay extra for an additional level of difficulty...umm, okay?I'll still drop the $20 for it like a chump though. I've never been one to play through Zelda games multiple times through as I feel it's hard to match the feeling of discovery that these games are known for with a second play through. So, I guess Nintendo finally adding a hard mode will provide some incentive.
2/14/2017 2:46:06 PM
Pretty dumb to announce this 2 weeks before launch, when there are so many unanswered questions about the system itself. They should have waited. Then again who really gives a shit, it's not gonna keep me or anybody else from buying the thing. Just some bad PR.
2/14/2017 4:39:07 PM
you know sometimes, in the wee hours when i can't sleep, i examine the many mistakes i've made in my life in great detailfor better or worse, spending money on Zelda has never appeared on this list
2/14/2017 9:51:11 PM
^that was so beautiful and wise
2/15/2017 7:54:12 PM
Are most current Wii U owners opting to purchase this for the Wii U or for the Switch?
2/24/2017 10:31:51 AM
Wii U.I'm glad they're releasing the game on both platforms because I do not plan on buying a switch.
2/24/2017 12:59:44 PM
SwitchinPretty excited for this game. Been playing some A Link to the Past in my free time lately.
2/24/2017 6:44:20 PM
I played Twilight Princess and now Windwaker. Plan on buying it for Wii U.

I got a switch, Zelda, and 1-2 switch on the way, Im going in hard baby.
2/26/2017 8:54:09 AM
Got mine preordered for WiiU. Not enough quality games for Switch yet. I'll get it in a year. Breath of the Wild was one of the reasons I got a WiiU in the first place.
2/26/2017 5:10:13 PM
^ So I guess you won't be playing Zelda in the park with the rest of us? Park Zelda is the best Zelda
2/26/2017 6:06:38 PM
My plan was to buy this for the WiiU and hold off on the Switch until the end of the year. But my house was broken into and I lost the WiiU so I'm going to be scrambling to find a Switch on launch day. Hoping target or Best Buy has enough left over to snag one if I get there when they open. The previews around Breath of the Wild have just been so positive that I'm not going to be able to wait 9 months to play it. There are many previews bold enough to say they expect this Zelda to be better than Ocarina of Time.
2/26/2017 6:12:33 PM
me and SGB will be playing with eachother's switch's in the park, yall are missing out

That is insane. I can't tell if what I'm reading in reviews is hyperbole or that this many people truly feel it's one of the best, if not the best, games they've ever played.
