Looking for opinions and advice on some suspicious activity in my neighborhood/condo complex before i report to HOA or police. A guy moved in to a ground floor unit in the building across the street from me about 3 months ago. Over the last 6 weeks there has been an increasing number of visitors stopping by. I work all day, so i really only see this when i'm home in the evenings and over the weekends. The visiting cars range from higher end BMW to really low end junkers. The suspicious thing about these visitors is that they never go inside. They'll sit outside in the parking lot for as short as 10 minutes to sometimes as long as 2 hours. At some point the guy will come out and speak to them for a few minutes only to go back inside and come back out later or the person in the car will drive off. Some evenings the guy himself will sit in his car for an hour or more. Never driving off, only turning the car off to go back inside after he's finished doing whatever it is he's doing in the car. This past Saturday there were two cars, with two female drivers and a few children in each. They parked in front of my unit and sat there with the engines off for almost 3 hours in the 85 degree heat. One of the cars returned on Sunday afternoon and sat outside another two hours before finally leaving. My instinct is that it's something drug related. But i have no proof and nothing to go on but my own observations. I'm just not sure how to approach this with either the HOA or police without sounding accusing or profiling in nature, but it's obvious that this isn't normal behavior. They're also not people i feel comfortable approaching directly to question their motives or presence]

Police say to call 911 if you see any suspicious activity, but snitches get stitches.[Edited on May 16, 2016 at 4:43 PM. Reason : no role for the HOA to play here]

Sounds like you should get a fucking life. You know what's definitely not normal Human behavior? Getting addicted to addarall when you are 9 years old. Let us know when a real crime happens.[Edited on May 16, 2016 at 5:22 PM. Reason : ]

I have some great book recommendations if you need something to do with your time other than spying on people. If you sign up for audible I will even donate one to you.

I'm just being real. I do this all the time usually to finish listening to a podcast or chapter of a book. I'm actually not anti-Police by any standard but fuck this facist mindset. Sitting in your car is not a reason for the cops to be called... My instinct is that you are not a police officer, a private investigator, nor do you work for the DEA, so piss off with this 1984 shit until you see a crime.[Edited on May 16, 2016 at 5:34 PM. sounds like probable cause to me.

Was this on Schaub Dr?I hear the drug guys get their mojo on over there sometimes
5/16/2016 9:19:48 PM
^ I used to live on Schaub Dr. There were definitely some sketchy characters around there. Not related - barrel monster guy used to live over there

A PM with the nearby intersection, simply for my own knowledge, would be appreciated

This used to happen frequently at my house I just moved out of... one of the reasons we moved. Having been inside the neighbors house once or twice the entire place smelled like pot so its safe to assume there were drug transactions taking place. I never called the cops because it never directly affected me and our son was friends with their daughter and they played outside a lot. My advice is if it doesn't directly affect you don't get involved unless you want the headache of dealing with police and having to testify or anything at some trial if it came to that. If you start to see a spike in crime or lots of reports of cars being broken into that sort of thing then it may be time to speak up.

yeah, it was honestly fine when it was just a couple cars a night and they were parking on his side of the street (roughly 12 spaces in front of his building and 12 in front of mine). But now they're starting to spill over into my side, taking the spaces for actual residents and waiting in their cars for hours at a time.

seems like Suspicious activity in condo complex
5/17/2016 9:18:15 AM
haha I lived on Schaub Drive up until about 8 months ago.A couple of times I saw police surrounding the building next to me. Another time a big drug bust was made at the building across the street. About a week before I moved out a girl cracked out started screaming in the parking lot at 3am. Caught a guy one trying to break into cars one night. And lots and lots of fights. I bet I had to call the cops atleast once every two or three weeks.Glad to be gone. I do miss the $640/month rent for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment.
5/17/2016 9:27:27 AM
So this sounds more like a parking issue.
5/17/2016 9:28:49 AM
Obviously drug related. Duh. We have a more minor variant across the street from my house. It's teenage kids buying weed and maybe pills, and they do a pretty terrible job of being discreet (kids bumping fists and I can see the dimebags, amateur level yo). I yell at them occasionally to get off my lawn and not block my driveway, and they've been pretty compliant, so I see no reason to get the cops involved. Property values I really do not give two fucks about; I just got re-assessed and my values went up regardless.

Then you should take your self-importance promptly back out for another walk.

i like it when someone tries to troll but gets ignored and then they try to troll again

Perhaps a polite, anonymous, note slipped under their windshield wiper would suffice?Or get an obnoxiously bright hand-held Spotlight. If they are parked in front of your house for too long, open your second story window and start shining it all around their car and make helicopter noises.
5/17/2016 12:07:59 PM
You should report suspicious activity. Let the police decide if there is something going on or not.If the guy isn't doing anything wrong then he has nothing to worry about.
5/17/2016 12:26:15 PM
5/17/2016 2:32:15 PM
This would pretty much be my advice though:
5/17/2016 3:19:18 PM
5/17/2016 4:20:47 PM
Mind your business. Why would you poke your head into something you clearly don't want to get mixed into anyways?Let the police do their job and mind your business.Snitches get stitches dawg.
5/17/2016 5:20:33 PM
mind your own damn business
5/17/2016 7:32:48 PM
^, ^^This is his business. This is where he lives and some god damned societal dregs are fucking the place up and ruining it for everyone. They need to park, go inside to buy their drugs, and get the fuck out discreetly like everyone else.
5/17/2016 10:10:43 PM
i don't see how they've fucked anything up
5/17/2016 10:32:29 PM
If they are selling small amounts of weed the odds of your house getting shot up are pretty low.]
5/21/2016 8:12:02 PM
also this...
5/21/2016 8:12:50 PM
If I saw that at my place and I had kids old enough to be outside alone I would probably say something.
5/21/2016 8:22:16 PM
better idea...you and a couple friends should grab some AR's and ski mask up then kick the door in and scream POLICE POLICE a few times then rob them blind and zip tie/duct tape them up...Profit
5/21/2016 10:56:12 PM
5/21/2016 11:16:09 PM
I'd agree that if you see break-ins/vandalism start happening that's an issue, but people just sitting around not bothering anyone, even for hours at a time, is not a real concern. The only thing about your original post that I'd even consider complaining to the cops about is children being left in a hot car.
5/22/2016 1:45:00 AM
I'd move, but that is because I have kids. If you are a single man, I'd probably do what others said and not worry too much about it unless other crime comes with it. You could also send an anonymous letter to the dude's address and tell him you are Heisenberg and are going to dissolve him in a bath tub for encroaching on your turf.
5/22/2016 8:56:25 AM
it seems like only the likely TWW drug addicts are the ones defending the criminals and telling you to keep your mouth shutI say call the cops. It's their job to serve and protect
5/22/2016 3:24:02 PM
wonder if anyone will bite on your troll bait

no news to report. Just a few guys sitting out front drinking 40s. Nice afternoon for it.
5/23/2016 8:57:22 AM
On a serious note, anyone who has bought drugs (or plants... or plant derivatives manufactured by a shadow government...) knows that you probably aren't sitting in your car for 4 hours outside your dealers house.[Edited on May 23, 2016 at 9:33 AM. Reason : ]
