I liked Doritos / Ultrasounda few others were ok
2/8/2016 12:17:49 AM
Prius was the only one that worked for me.
2/8/2016 12:24:09 AM
The doritos ultrasound was funny where I was watching because the woman who had just had a baby after 2 days of labor and finally a c-section sees it and yells "damnit, honey, you should have just gotten a bag of doritos!"
2/8/2016 12:27:30 AM
^^That one made my white privilege and white guilt really act up. I mean, some white dudes in a Prius sneaking through a police checkpoint? Imagine if it were 4 black dudes in a late 60s Impala. Dead.

That's just a false narrative perpetuated by the media[Edited on February 8, 2016 at 12:37 AM. Reason : ]

hulk and ant man
2/8/2016 12:38:46 AM
Everybody seemed to like the ultrasound one. I thought it was disgusting and horrifying. We should go back to the days when child labor was not shown on television.^^^But they were dumb, white guys, which makes it okay.Incidentally, if you ever find yourself using a whole roll of paper towels to clean up a small spill, you should definitely PM me. I'm a smart, savvy female who can condescendingly point you to the product that will solve all your idiot man problems.

pfft that's what socks are for
2/8/2016 12:53:02 AM

a local commercial at halftime:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ4z-qQ96p8[Edited on February 8, 2016 at 1:04 PM. Reason : Peyton advertising Budweiser was pretty hilarious too.]
2/8/2016 1:03:50 PM
^yeah, that was my favorite. Wonder how much they spent on the timeslot and on Mike Tyson. They played the abbreviated version several times.

I hate commercials in general.I only watched one superbowl commercial because I was forced to on youtube, and I liked it quite a bit.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB8tgVqmKzw
2/8/2016 2:36:06 PM
LOL, the Behind the Scenes of that commercial:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEnzSQQgB9M

Apartments.com is one of the worst
2/8/2016 2:53:44 PM
I'm not sure if I liked the Sheep singing Freddie Mercury or not.... I doubt most sheep ranchers listen to Queen.
2/8/2016 2:55:30 PM
By and large, the commercials sucked
2/8/2016 2:55:38 PM
I liked the singing sheep, but they released it online days ago so it wasn't very exciting
2/8/2016 2:56:38 PM
I like Willem Dafoe's Snickers commercial in addition to some of those already mentioned.
2/8/2016 5:06:00 PM
for dumb comedy: Willem Dafoe/Marilyn Monroe Snickersfor buildup and delivery: I really liked the Super Bowl Babies commercial. You don't realize what they're doing at first and then almost midway you figure it out. When they get to "1967 Packers babies" it's pretty funny.more underrated one was Helen Mirren chastising drunk driving
2/8/2016 6:42:33 PM
If it has shock value that doesn't relate to the product or service, its useless. Also, creativity is almost completely gone. Most of the commercials are animals talking which was funny when it was relatively new like 15 years ago but now its strange when a commercial doesn't have an animals behaving like a person. Who the hell is getting paid to make these ads? Awful. They know that people are at parties talking to people and just hoping for something to break conversations and get people to look at the tv like "look!,wtf is that on the tv screen?" You can still be creative in doing that. The prius and taco bell commercials seemed to be one of the only ones that actually advertised while leaving a memorable mark without the same ole recycled ideas. I'll give it to heinz as well even though the "aww cute dogs" factor is cheap.

The baby/dog/monkey commercial was

Man bear pig would have been better[Edited on February 8, 2016 at 7:21 PM. Reason : fuck double post]
turns out the apartments.com commercial wasn't random and was just over the heads of people like me too young to understand the jeffersons. great ad in that case.
2/8/2016 8:04:25 PM
Puppy money baby and goldbloom/apts.com were good and oddDoritos ultrasound was terrible, yall are crazySB babies was basically promoting unprotected sex, I've commited such acts but do not condone

I didn't get the point of having the cast of the second season of The Wire in the Prius commercial.
2/9/2016 7:07:51 AM
Tide had a strong night, but my favorite was probably the Doritos / Mountain Dew ad with Dinklage doing Busta Rhymes and Freeman doing Missy Elliott
2/5/2018 10:38:59 PM
^ yup, Tide definitely had a good night.Loved the OBJ/Eli lift.Coinbase was dumb and a complete Andy Samberg rip-off.The Alexa commercial featuring Jagged Edge, Cardi B (and her chirp), and Anthony Hopkins among others was pretty great. The Crocodile Dundee appearance was funny as fuck.Everyone at my party died during the Devito M&Ms commercial but it didn't do anything for me.Avocados From Mexico was funny (and has the best jingle of all time)"*Bleep* don't stink" was funny for making people uncomfortable. "That's better than being a lawyer"

2/6/2018 9:34:20 AM
because MLK would have wanted that.
2/6/2018 9:37:10 AM
The Alexa one was solid.

I was listening on NPR about that MLK commercial...from what I remember, apparently the King Estate is very protective of his speeches, and it's very hard to hear the full speeches, but they're willing to sell clips for car commercials. Apparently there was another one a few years ago.
2/6/2018 11:19:20 AM
the speeches (sermons) are on youtube, they are easy to listen torecording:https://youtu.be/tBiFnDuCJIUtext:http://kingencyclopedia.stanford.edu/encyclopedia/documentsentry/doc_the_drum_major_instinct/

eh, i was wondering about that, i didn't look.I went back and found the transcript of the segment I listened to:https://www.npr.org/2018/02/05/583461849/super-bowl-ad-featuring-voice-of-martin-luther-king-jr-sparks-debate
