girl across the (interior) hall from me apparently took down her Christmas tree a few days ago. she drug it down the stairs and left a thick trail of debris from her door all the way to the dumpster. if she was a renter it would still be bad, but the fact that she's an owner just makes it extra shitty to me.

grab a couple handfuls and super glue it to her door.
1/7/2016 12:05:18 PM
my neighborhood is full of old (60-80yo) people who won't fucking move to florida so younger families can move in.
1/7/2016 12:51:17 PM
if she's an owner, then you shouldn't feel bad telling her to clean it up
1/7/2016 1:00:15 PM
^^ I'd rather have old people, my neighbors are 20 year olds who always have their stupid friends over and love parking in my space. even if I'm just gone half an hour to go to the store, lo and behold, when I get back there's some crumb bum in my space. and they love playing their stupid surround sound at 200% bass and shaking the whole block. I wish they would die.

So you're pissed at her...yet you also want to fuck her. There are many ways to attack this...but the key would be to fuck her first.
1/7/2016 1:31:23 PM
tell her to clean up her mess while you're doing her doggy style. then put it up her butt to drive your point across.

You mean the pine needles?I share trash and recycling bins with my neighbor. She refuses (or just doesn't ever think) about taking them to the curb or back up the driveway. Ever. The older I get, the more I realize how self-centered and/or oblivious a lot of people are.[Edited on January 7, 2016 at 1:54 PM. Reason : ]

In my building, my neighbors 3 doors down from me go out into the hall with their toddler, and let him play - I don't really care about that though. But in playing, they let their kid shreik and bang on doors of the neighbors - I don't even mind that too much, as my TV can easily drown out the noise. But it drives my dog fucking insane. I think he wishes he could bite that toddlers face off. In all actuality, he probably doesn't want to bite the kid as much as he just doesn't know what's causing the noise outside. It's annoying though.

My next door neighbors have 2 young dogs, a year apart. They got the first one about 2 months after I moved into my house. Never trained it. Dog barks all the time. Got a second dog to keep the first dog "company". Never trained that dog either. They bark at fucking everything. EVERYTHING. And they have good hearing. The sound my dog's collar jingling (when I take him outside) is enough to set them off on a 5 minute barking spree. i.e. a very familiar sound.I like both of them (married couple) as people, but whenever they're outside so are their dogs (fenced in yard). I can't have a reasonable conversation with them because their dogs just bark at me and jump up and down at the fence. I keep the conversations brief and just go inside.
1/7/2016 2:15:07 PM
^my neighbors below me had a dog like that. Thankfully they just moved out.they would leave it in the bedroom closet during the day while they were both at work. It would bark constantly from 8am to 5pm. Then at night, while they weather was still warm, they would just put it out on the back patio and let it bark at everything that walked by. It was miserable. i felt so bad for the dog.
1/7/2016 3:15:41 PM
shit on my front lawn and try to pretend it was a dogI saw you, you know
1/7/2016 3:16:46 PM
Yeah, I used to have a guy that lived above ms who would leave his puppy in a cage all day. It would bark and cry from 8 to 6 all day long. Us, the neighbors would suffer. The dog would suffer. The only one not suffering was the owner of the dog, who wasn't there. They were the most heart wrenching cries too. The dog obviously just wanted companionship, and to not be in a cage all day.

I bought my house in a nice quiet culdesac. Everything was awesome. Slowly over the years, the neighbors have been moving, but keeping their homes as rentals. Now we're down to 3 out of the 5 homes in the sac being rentals. That's not overly terrible, but we've had some shitty folks moving into the rentals over the last few years.Currently, the neighbor beside me is a middle aged ex marine mexicano from Texas who owns 2 late 80's Mustang GT's. One is his daily driver and the other is sitting on blocks in the garage. He works on it EVERY DAY with the garage door open and blaring shitty latin hip hop like Pitbull. (I also do work in the garage with door open, but I dont blast shitty ass music) Also, several times a day (yes, several. like 4-5 at least. Not an exaggeration) he cranks his car and revs the fuck out of the engine. And it's LOUD. Makes my dog lose her shit several times a day, and has even woke my baby up once who's upstairs sleeping with a noise machine going. So you know it's loud. And his daily driver is just as loud so I hear him crank and rev it up at 6am in the morning (again, older car and probably requires some throttle input to get fired up in the morning), and 6pm every night when he gets home.He and his girlfriend of 5 years live there, with his college-aged daughter and the girlfriend's toddler. The college aged daughter doesnt even know what her dad's live-in girlfriend does for a living, even after 5 years of living together (come to find out the girlfriend is finishing up nursing school, so it's not like some bullshit degree or something). These are some quality people here, I tell ya.Also, they have a small dog who they constantly have off-leash.I'm hoping they leave once their yearly lease is up but I'm sure I wont be that lucky.[Edited on January 7, 2016 at 3:27 PM. The people on the street behind us, who are through a tree line, called the cops on our Christmas party because a few people were playing beer pong outside ... at 9:30 on a Friday night. The neighbors next to us said they heard nothing whatsoever. Oh, and I suspect the ones who called are the same people who leave their barking dog outside all the fucking time.
1/7/2016 3:29:44 PM
^^sorry, i was responding to the comment above mine, about sticking it in butt
1/7/2016 3:33:59 PM
Looks like for the most part this thread is about neighbors and their shitty treatment of their pets. I have another one to add to the list. Fucking dog in the house next to mine is a little rat thing. Barks its head off all the damn time. They leave it outside all the damn time. Hot summer day? Just throw a kiddy pool out there for it. Cold winter day? It's got a dog house. My bedroom window is close to the yard so what's that? A leaf rustled in the wind? Better bark at it for 20 minutes. Even though I know it really isn't the dog's fault, I fucking hate that dog. I did get ear plugs which help for the most part but it is still annoying as hell.Any time I'm up early or late I try and make as much fucking noise outside as I can just so their whole damn family wakes up.
1/7/2016 3:35:41 PM
I don't understand how people deal with owning barky dogs. I have heard the argument that they must get used to it and tune it out. But considering how impossible that is for everyone else, I don't think that's likely. Pretty sure the people who near me who have the dog just throw it outside when they leave, so maybe they aren't aware exactly how endlessly it barks.

We have the end unit of a 3-floor townhouse. The people next door are renting for the 2nd year running, and they have 3 kids under 6. Their stairs and our stairs are both against our shared wall, as are the laundry rooms/half baths. With 5 people, they make a lot of noise going up and down, and the kids are always kicking balls and shit down the stairs, and they hammer a new picture hanger into the shared wall like twice a week, and the wife never stops doing laundry, for which I cannot blame her. They also have loud friends with kids over 2-3 times a week, and the kids drive the loudest powerwheels on the planet in hapless little circles in our pathetic communal driveway. But, as I have noisy pets that I gave bells to entertain themselves with, and the neighbors in question said they never heard them even though I can hear them outside the property, so I figured it all evened out, more or less, on the noise front. That is, until a few weeks ago, when we celebrated our wedding anniversary. Our plans ended up falling through and we rescheduled for the next weekend, but I was still irritable due to the circumstances. We got home in the evening and the neighbors were having a party, and all 5 kids were literally running laps on the stairs for a couple hours straight. I proceeded to get shit drunk, bitched about the noise endlessly, and eventually went up the stairs, kicking the wall between our apartments about 10 times on each stair. With all the cacophony, I'm not sure they even noticed... but things have been a bit more subdued since. Now I am impatient for them to take down their most hideous and mismatched Christmas lights, which are once again draped over the top of my goddamn mailbox. half of the icicle lights are white, and half are colored lights on this incredibly slow blink that makes them look burnt out. This is, of course, the section closest to my door. Unfortunately people tend to leave their lights up until April or so around these parts, so an act of sabotage may be required.

i was feeling guilty that our neighbor, for free, kept watching my gf's cat when we were out of town for holidays, so i bake them some cookies. But when i brought them over that bitch gives me two packs of venison and a nut cake meaning i left feeling MORE guilty, not less, wtf.
1/7/2016 5:11:37 PM
^Maybe she likes cats? I would watch a cool neighbor's cat for free. I wouldn't feel guilty about it if I were you.

1/7/2016 5:23:15 PM
^^^Yeah, and a gift certificate + a bottle of her favorite booze is the appropriate gift.A plate of cookies is nice but certainly not something I would regard as remuneration for free pet care.If you must keep a tally of "favors," then technically you still "owe" her.[Edited on January 7, 2016 at 5:25 PM. Almost forgot about the lady across the street. She's a vegan that is into "essential oils". She's got like 5 kids, which are actually pretty cool kids, but she always has them doing her errands for her. She's been trying to get my wife into the essential oils things for like years now but my wife is too nice to just outright tell her no. Are any of you guys familiar with essential oils? It is essentially snake oil. A cure-all for any ailment. My wife had a kidney transplant so she has to take a lot of different medicine to prevent her body from rejecting the foreign kidney. This lady is convinced that her oils (seriously, rubbing them on her feet and shit) will magically cure her. Like, people have being dying from the disease my wife had that destroyed her kidneys for thousands of years until modern medicine figured it out but all they had to do the whole time was rub this lemonseed oil or whatever on their feet. She has an essential oils party at least once a month where all these people come to learn about their wonders and she invites the wife every time. Every time she makes up an excuse. Last time as the vegan strode off she muttered "I just wish you'd let me help you."yeah.At least the old lady on the other side of the house is cool. She made me potato soup once when it was really cold.

I feel pretty lucky reading this thread. Outside of an occasional barky dog across the street, my neighborhood is pretty quiet (not incl me) and everyone keeps to their selves. The only mildly dicky thing I can think of is one week I had too many recyclables for my cart, so in the cover of darkness around 11pm I took an extra bag a couple houses down to the closest neighbors recyclables cart, and put my extra bag there, where there was plenty of extra room. Next morning that same bag was sitting on my curb. And yeah as ^ said, fuck a shared wall. I'd consider a downtown condo if I worked there, but outside of that no way am I going to subject myself the noise/aggravation of sharing a single wall, much less multiple walls.
1/8/2016 9:41:33 AM
^Holy shit. They took the bag out and returned it to you? That's crazy!
1/8/2016 11:03:03 AM
so synapse is the shitty neighbor then
1/8/2016 11:08:37 AM
I like our neighborhood. We do have one house that was a foreclosure, went for super-cheap, and now there's like 3 hispanic families living in one house. That isn't a huge deal, but every weekend they erect one of those big white wedding tents, either have live or really really loud siesta music playing and have 50 people over.I like my music loud too, but the whole neighborhood doesn't need to hear it.
1/8/2016 11:33:02 AM
^^ indeed...or at least i used to be. i'm settling down in my old age, mostly

My neighborhood is awesome. I'm probably the shitty neighbor never hosting anything and drinking people's booze all the time. From what I've experienced 9/10 people that have a dog shouldn't. Same goes for kids. That would solve most neighbor problems.
