Sadly only 2 cats, but i might be able to temporary borrow more or sedate a raccoon.

No, the depth of field is fine, you just need the focus point to be on your face and not the wall. Use point focus mode and put the dot where your face is.

(or if taking another photo is not an option, at least blur the wall a little so it doesn't draw the eye to it and instead it just looks like the entire photo has a soft focus)
