Drake's voice has always got on my nerves...and I don't understand why people think he is a lyrical genius. Yeah, he's better than 99% of mainstream hip-hop, but that's not saying much these days.

And Kanye is great, he's just been slowly losing his mind for the last six or seven years.

But that is irrelevant when discussing "overrated". Ratings/rankings are relative based on comparable competition. If Drake is overrated, which he could be then you need to support that stance by talking about all of the current rappers who are better than him.

nobody cares about what big daddy kane is spitting anymore because it has run its course. that time has passed. people appreciate old art but want NEW art.

People appreciate shakespeare but HAMILTON is whats hot now. Does that mean Hamilton is more sophisticated than shakespeare? No. Does that mean hamilton is overrated? no. Its an irrelevant argument.

There can't be multiple generations of pioneers. Hip Hop can't proliferate itself twice. It has already arrived so what was done back then literally can't be done again within the same genre.

IF someone comes out today and does exactly what Beethoven did they won't go anywhere. That time is over.
