On 9/11? And 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudi citizens.... coincidence?
9/11/2015 2:53:08 PM
AND THEY USED CRANES TO BUILD THE TWIN TOWERS
9/11/2015 3:05:32 PM
Crane collapses can't melt steel beams...
9/11/2015 3:07:44 PM
Apparently, the crane was operated by Bin Laden firm.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3231117/At-62-people-dead-crane-collapses-Grand-Mosque-Mecca.html
9/11/2015 3:30:45 PM
is it finally....time to terrorize the terrorists?
9/11/2015 5:32:29 PM
couldnt have happened to a nicer bunch of sand niggers
9/11/2015 6:03:01 PM
The Hajj starts 9/21. It's a good thing this happened prior to that, otherwise it would've been much worse.
9/11/2015 6:15:45 PM
obligatory, "Yeah, fuck those dunecoons".Ignorance aside, having been to Mecca a few times myself, this could have been much, much worse had this been during Hajj. But it's really sad that 87 died.[Edited on September 11, 2015 at 6:29 PM. Reason : .]

Has anyone there thought to run a structural analysis on Masjid Al-Haram? Not that people caused the crane to collapse, but my god, look at all the people in there. The spirit of Allah will hold our weight.[Edited on September 11, 2015 at 6:58 PM. Reason : k]

Another structural collapse on September 11th brought to you by the bin Laden family.

I bet it was Allah punishing them for letting a woman walk by with her forearms exposed

^ yeah probably not surprising for tww, after all, tww is full of geniuses but yes, for the broader american population, it would be surprising, and in the south, shocking! yes, 'tis sad.
9/12/2015 2:33:23 PM
I'm not saying TWW is full of geniuses, haha...just saying it's a college educated population, and with some more savvy than even average for that population.(of course there are plenty of dumbasses, too)
9/12/2015 2:51:29 PM
lol that's what i meant too, i just said it a bit sarcastically, remembering the "what's your SAT score" threads where so many users report in the 1300-1450 range and yet the NCSU average is 1150 or 1200

9/12/2015 3:36:04 PM
wait... is this some sort of terrorist gathering place? shouldn't we be celebrating this?

I looked for about three min for a mecca sports wear shirt picture to post and couldn't find one

The Latest: Saudis say 717 dead in hajj stampedehttp://www.wral.com/the-latest-saudis-say-220-dead-in-hajj-stampede/14922547/

I just really do not understand this. I am an ex-muslim, and have been to these places and experienced these types of people and situations, but I still don't understand WHY this happens. I understand being "driven" by the opportunity and feeling that comes over you when you are in the presence of such a holy place and what it means for you and your religion, but why can people not have the decency and human compassion to not stampede over other humans? I pose this question - would the same happen if these were Christian pilgrims?

A list of other stampeded from wikipedia, although none are on the scale of this recent stamped in Mecca:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_human_stampedesA few:

So, what I'm seeing here is that the majority of these are either panic-driven (somewhat justified I suppose) and/or in the middle east/asia.[Edited on September 24, 2015 at 10:40 AM. Reason : .]
9/24/2015 10:39:44 AM
Yeah, pretty much... although I imagine almost every one is panic driven.
9/24/2015 10:40:33 AM
note to self...if in a large crowd, stay in the back of the stampede.

9/24/2015 11:35:05 AM
so, how do you explain that in religious terms?[Edited on September 24, 2015 at 11:52 AM. Reason : trampling death toll > crane death toll]
9/24/2015 11:51:25 AM
I don't know how to answer that question.I was raised Muslim but haven't practiced it or believed in it for more years than I did (that just means I am old lol). But even when I did practice it till my mid teens and believe in it till my late teens, it was only because I grew up in it, not because it made some amazing sense and definitely not because I felt some kind of spiritual connection, such I never did. While all religions I have looked at have amazing things and injunctions in them, they also all have things that don't make any sense at all, contradictions, and downright wickedness, cruelty, and other similar good stuff. So, I don't know how to answer that question. Most tramplings occur in eastern nations, at least I think so. Eastern people definitely have less group-dynamic manners and morals than Western people from my experience in several countries over 2 decades. At the same time, I do wonder if that was all 4 million Western people, how they would have reacted. I think in that case they would have been organized enough to not let a situation arises like that in the first place. What I read said that two large groups of people walking at 90 degrees to each other meet at an interaction, but I don't know why that would lead to stampeding.
9/24/2015 12:26:58 PM
^I totally agree 100%.I'm glad i'm not the only mid-eastern, muslim raised person who has made these same observations about "our peoples". Easterners most DEFINITELY have less group-dynamic manners and morals in my experiences. And i'm not ONLY talking about massive groups like at Hajj. I'm also talkin' standing in lines at grocery stores, the race outside to get your sandals at the mosque, etc. They are freaking intense, and annoying.[Edited on September 24, 2015 at 4:09 PM. try being at the airport in Irbil, Iraq. It was a fucking madhouse.
9/24/2015 4:56:42 PM
I.cant fathom how that many people can be trampled with no real threat. It doesnt seem mathematically possible. Are they wearing ice skates
9/24/2015 6:48:56 PM
What sucks is a lot of the people who end up trampled are the people who try to stop and help those who have fallen and just get pushed over themselves by the rest of the assholes who dont give a shit.
9/25/2015 8:47:13 AM
What sucks is this is not the first time, you would think they fix the problems already.
