I can usually get away with doing it at night, or when i leave him alone.Still, he looks at me with such betrayal every time. Every damn time.

I suppose it doubles as that. But it's an "inflatable" collar that does what cones do but is less obtrusive.[Edited on September 11, 2015 at 12:18 PM. Reason : add another note]

We got a cloth cone for our cat that was less obtrusive than the hard plastic ones.

you can also use a bite-not collar it keeps them from being able to bend their neck as much to keep them away from problem areas. doesn't go over the face so it freaks some dogs out less
