infi.net, circa 1990this was some pre-web shit. no web browser. dialed into an access server, and then had to telnet to the "main" internet portal which had a rudimentary ANSI menu for USENET, FTP, Archie, gopher, and other CLI-based internet apps.looked something like this, though not exactly:[Edited on September 10, 2015 at 9:15 PM. AOL dial-up, prob ~97-ish?
9/11/2015 12:43:42 AM
Ours was a regional dial-up service called Alphanet in the Sandhills. Their domain was ac.net. My first email address was hambone@ac.net. Wish I still had that email address.

CompuServe sometime around '89-'90 but I only ever used it with parents to find stuff for school projects, AOL was the first ISP where I actually used anything independently

Prodigy classic from all the way back in the pre-windows days. I remember the first time doing email, they wanted to charge the same rate as normal postage. You might have gotten a few free ones to start, though. It sucked because no one else had internet yet.Parents stuck with Prodigy classic pretty much til the forced switch to Prodigy Internet. I remember being sad at the loss of my chat buddies.
