If all you do is smoke cigarettes and drink diet coke you may shed some pounds.
8/10/2015 12:27:00 PM
I think what they're trying to say is diet AND exercise helps you lose weight...not diet OR exercise. But we all already knew this.
8/10/2015 12:50:53 PM
Changing your diet without exercising can definitely help you lose weight-- it's probably the biggest factor in weight gain/loss.
8/10/2015 12:52:36 PM
^^yeah, both are important, but diet is far more crucial to losing weight than exercise. As the old saying goes, Fitness happens in the gym, weight loss happens in the kitchen.^ word[Edited on August 10, 2015 at 12:55 PM. Reason : .]

Who gives a shit? Just do both.
8/10/2015 12:57:48 PM
Right, soda doesn't cause obesity, people drinking soda cause oobesity #GunsDontKillPeople
8/10/2015 1:30:02 PM
Losing weight is 80-90% diet. And while nearly all people can lose weight changing their diet (quality and quantity) but not exercising, the other way around it is the complete opposite. Exercising but not changing your diet mostly doesn't help lose weight, and that has been shown by studies.IOW, as I said in another thread, aside from terrorists and killers, those 'scientists' are the worst humans on the planet. They have sold themselves to the devil for some money.

I've been significantly weening off caffeine lately just kind of by accident (worrying more about hydration in this heat than getting a jolt of energy) but I'm not fat so I can't tell a difference.
8/10/2015 3:28:11 PM
yeah i know a guy who lost like 50-60 pounds and the only thing he changed was to stop drinking sodas.
8/10/2015 7:17:02 PM
Good lord was he drinking a 12pack a day? If someone can lose that much SOLELY by cutting soda, how do they not have diabetes??
8/10/2015 7:44:57 PM
8/10/2015 7:46:49 PM
I don't really know. He used to be pretty fat. He was always active though. But that was the only thing he changed. It wouldn't surprise me if some fat people drank that much soda, I've seen them go through the checkouts at the grocery store.
8/10/2015 9:16:27 PM
LOL, old sayings now reference gyms?!?!WTF?The old sayings I know advise tubby folks to lay off the biscuits n taters n git their asses to work. Also, if ya wanna be rill healthy, try n give up the smokes...an see what you kin do bout da licker.
8/10/2015 9:21:35 PM
I will never gib up my party likker.
8/10/2015 9:40:48 PM
i gave up the sugar soda and lost 50lbs but that wasnt the only change. i eat a lot of fast food so went from getting a combo to just 1 item and drank water. you would have to drink 4+ liters a day or some crap for it to be 50lbs
8/11/2015 8:21:08 AM
I made slight adjustments to my diet (fewer french fries among other things) and cut my soda intake by about 75% (7-10 sodas a week before) and lost something close to 20 pounds.
8/11/2015 12:51:52 PM
Every time I stop drinking soda, I lose at least 10 lbs.Whenever I start drinking them again, I gain it back. Nope. Doesn't cause obesity.I've only had probably a total of 10 sodas since January though, so I think I'm doing pretty well.
8/11/2015 12:53:12 PM
I drink maybe 12oz of soda a month. Beer on the other hand.......
8/11/2015 12:54:44 PM
if regular soda doesn't make you fat, then diet soda must pretty much be like negative calories. i'm trying to drink more and more diet drinks to help lose more weight.

Have any of you guys watched the documentary Fed Up? Some real truth in there..
8/11/2015 8:07:43 PM
Soda doesn't cause obesity, too many calories causes obesity. That said, non-diet sodas are high calorie with little to no feeling of fullness from said calories so they make it easier to over consume. If you take a person who doesn't gain or lose weight on a 2000 calorie diet and substitute 200 calories from carbs with 200 calories from soda there will be zero change in body weight. Why? Because soda isn't magical, it's just a source of sugar.
8/11/2015 8:45:40 PM
Dudes openly talking about weight and diet is the one thing I don't like about the Internet.I know y'all do it, but man, y'all need to keep this kind of thing private.Wake up, do your push-ups, and don't be a bitch for sweets.I get that some folks have a bit of an issue, but random men chiming in about their diets and weight...I can barely stand my lady friends and I on that shit.
8/11/2015 9:05:01 PM
I like wings and beer
8/11/2015 9:14:19 PM
8/11/2015 9:46:31 PM
^^^^that's not how the human brain works. people who drink soda don't replace 200 calories of solid food elsewhere, they have it in addition to all the calories their bodies need.so yeah, soda causes obesity.
8/11/2015 10:26:08 PM
that's not how science works
8/11/2015 10:53:06 PM
^^Soda still does not cause obesity, doesn't matter how many times you say it
8/11/2015 11:09:45 PM
Soda causes Obesity.Soda contributes to Obesity. One might argue that it's just a matter of semantics, but in cases like this, semantics are important.
8/12/2015 9:41:27 AM
Calories contribute to obesity. Chronic overconsumption of calories causes obesity. There is nothing unique to soda that causes obesity more than an equal serving of orange juice for example. Both are not satiating and high in calories. People just like to find something to blame other than their own choices and self control.
8/12/2015 10:21:27 AM
I bet these people drink a lot of soda, like liters upon litershttp://m.mic.com/articles/123859/these-gorgeous-nude-photos-are-body-positive-and-sex-positiveDON'T LOOK

Nothing is worse than make fat people. I really wonder how the really obese chicks always seem to have babies.
8/15/2015 11:20:17 AM
soda doesn't cause obesity...DRINKING soda is what causes the obesity. but it's not the soda's fault.]
8/15/2015 11:25:28 PM
If somebody eats 50 lbs of lettuce a day, I guess eating salads causes obesity
8/15/2015 11:51:06 PM
GG, Mexico. FU, Coke.http://www.theguardian.com/news/2015/nov/03/obese-soda-sugar-tax-mexico

So it's Coke's fault? Interesting.
11/8/2015 2:57:50 PM
Well there are taxes for alcohol and cigs. Why not soda?
