Wow, your follow up post tells us less than that.Serialized rehash of a 1970s Michael Critchon film. It's about some future theme park centered around AI.Links:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westworldhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westworld_(TV_series)

So do the NPCs wake up and do/say the same thing every cycle (which I assume is 2 weeks based on the frat guys on the train)? or every day? Because it would make sense to be every cycle but that chick definitely seemed to wake up and do the same thing at least two or three times while the same cycle was going on.Also, producing the NPCs definitely reminded me of Synth production in Fallout 4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_2mRl2pK00[Edited on October 2, 2016 at 10:35 PM. very interesting.

Lot of questions come out from the pilot, but I suppose that's to be expected. It's all very confusing at this point, in my opinion, but without a doubt I'll keep watching.I suppose my biggest question is WTF is Ed Harris up to?
10/3/2016 9:02:45 AM
got halfway through before HBO Go started being uncooperative (said something about error come back later) and nothing I did could help (reset network, log out/in, etc.). I'll try to come back to it. What I saw was cool.
10/3/2016 9:13:02 AM
Yeah, Ed Harris brought a lot of questions. I'm sure the "rules" of the world will be laid out in the coming episodes. But it seemed odd that they could keep track of all of the newcomers and what everyone is up to, yet Ed Harris is just off on his own killing and mutilating hosts un-monitored.
10/3/2016 9:37:54 AM
Why don't they explain everything in the first episode??
10/3/2016 11:28:19 AM
I could almost see the exclamation point over the head of that guy rounding up a posse.

i thought Black Hole Sun was done well, Paint It Black got really old after about 30 seconds. The orchestration of it wasn't very interesting at all.
10/4/2016 9:47:02 PM
Great book this was. Ed Harris is the Perrfect casting for the Man In Black..........................................................
10/5/2016 9:05:01 AM
this show is awesome so far.

Give me more Anthony Hopkins
10/5/2016 11:24:58 AM
This soundtrack > Zimmer's death trumpets. If Nolan can mange to not destroy the simple, yet fascinating plot-lines of Chricton, the show will be good. The hosts and programmers talk about dreams too much already. Anthony Hopkins is the best.

I assume the guns don't actually fire real bullets, but rather just those little balls of powder, and all the hosts are covered head to toe in explosive sqibs under their skin. After all you wouldn't want the guests shooting each other either. This could be totally wrong, just my theory.
10/7/2016 3:41:32 PM
^ that seems to explain it pretty well based on the first episode

Second episode is now up.
10/7/2016 9:29:31 PM
Second episode has me completely hooked. The directing is really excellent too.
10/7/2016 10:11:19 PM
So I'm starting to wonder how the hosts are "prevented" from hurting guests. Someone mentioned that the guns just shot blanks/squibs before but that can't be right, whenever one of the hosts tries to shoot Ed Harris, you see the dust and stuff fly off of his clothes. He's definitely getting hit by some kind of projectile but he clearly doesn't even react to it. And I'm not sure what happens when two guests interact with each other and try to shoot one another. And what if one of the hosts was just to punch a guest in the face? I guess maybe their programming would prevent them, but one that one host woke up in the lab she didn't seem to have any qualms about stabbing people with the scalpel (and the people cleaning her up were legit scared of her).
10/11/2016 9:26:16 AM
Andymac suggested the hosts fire balls of powder above which would explain the bullet part of your question. As to whether or not they can hurt someone in some other way I would guess what you do, that their programming wouldn't let them, but yeah, them being afraid of the prostitute who woke up doesn't jive with that other than maybe just being scared that because she's been acting abnormally maybe her programming is messed upholy run on sentence
10/11/2016 10:27:19 AM
So what would stop 2 players from hurting one another? If players are able to hurt one another, how could they prove you didn't think you were shooting a host?Looks like Dolores might have just found herself a working gun. That could make things interesting.
10/11/2016 10:48:22 AM
Even if it is a ball of powder though -- that thing would be traveling fast to mimic a bullet. If it hit you in the eye, it could blind you. They have gone to a lot of depths to make sure that people cannot get hurt.I'm also wondering what if one of the hosts unknowingly does something -- like when Dolores dropped that can of food or whatever -- if some idiot stuck his head down there it could leave a bump if it smacked him. If that can happen, what is stopping another host from accidentally doing something that could hurt someone? I guess the program could "freeze" or whatever? Like when that rattlesnake was about to bite Anthony Hopkins? Which is actually another thing I'm really curious about -- how do they "get" into the world? That one guy just walked through a door and was suddenly on a moving train. Maybe some kind of teleportation portal or something?I guess maybe we can just chalk everything up to futuristic technology of some kind or maybe they'll explain it in the future. Not nitpicking by any means, the show just has me thinking [which is good].[Edited on October 11, 2016 at 10:52 AM. Reason : ]
