I have a 1995 ZJ with a Dana 35 that needs to have the rear axle rebuilt. I normally do all of the work on my Jeep but after doing my homework to prepare to do it myself it looks like I would rather have someone else take card of it. I don't have half the tools needed and those clearances with the backlash tweaking are where I could see myself getting it wrong.

Can anyone recommend a shop to have it rebuilt or any other suggestions?

Do you know what gear ratio?

To be honest that's a complete piece of junk and I would pull a Dana 44 out of a v8 with the same gearing even though they are aluminum they are still 100x better than the d35c And it's probably cheaper than a shop will charge you in a junk yard but that's my .02

Yeah I saw all the negative D35 stuff when doing my research.

Is the D44 a direct swap?

East Coast Gear Supply if you're interested in paying. They can do it all-

But yes, I would do the pull-a-part thing and get a decent used replacement (d44 or whatever).

Yeah, screw paying to rebuild a d35. If you do any sort of offroading, definitely take this opportunity to upgrade.

The ford 8.8 is another popular swap. I swapped one into my XJ years ago, and had East Coast Gear Supply regear it.
