As a bit of an experiment, I started a petition to renew the "Lady Liberty" artwork on US coinage (and suggest developing the same for paper currency). Personally, I found the old coinage far more attractive than presidential portraiture and I submit that classical motifs are less prone to rapid political vicissitudes.See: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov//petition/renew-lady-liberty-currency-artwork-us-coins-develop-same-paper-billsI'm pretty much a social network nitwit, but thought TWW might be a way to generate some initial interest & signatures; perhaps.

Meh, they still use it on gold and silver US mint issued coins.I'm opposed to continuing to mint most coins. We should have phased the penny out of production and gone to rounding to the nearest 5 cents years ago like every other civilized country and our own fricking military does.Sorry, your petition will not get my signature.

So do you also support the effort to get rid of paper money? I could see Lady Liberty make her way onto coins worth more...such as a $5, $10 or $20 coin. Those would need to happen if we ever got rid of paper money.

Lady Liberty offends me due to it being a sexist and cis-privileged representation of the female form used as a means to prop up and legitimize the patriarchy. I will be petitioning the government to not only reject this petition but also take down the Statue of Liberty as it is an offensive symbol of a traitorous and lost cause of oppressing the female and trans gendered
