Any of yall fuck with this?

Have heard its really good. Had like 10 people on my friends list playing it last night. I just don't have the time these days to jump into these deep ass RPG's. I tried the latest Dragon Age but could barely get into it because I never had the time to really dive into it.
5/28/2015 11:28:37 AM
It's on my list, and I'll probably pick it up soon. I hear they're releasing a lot of DLC upfront for free, and that there are some optimization patches in the works so I'm waiting for a good bit of those to roll out. I'm excited about it though.
5/28/2015 11:35:59 AM
I got it for free with my Graphics Card. I was told it was KOTOR level as far as a good RPG.I tried it once for 20 minutes, got bored as shit thinking it was just "Mash sword attack" and level up.Tried it again last night, got hooked. Upping the difficulty makes it way more challenging and fun.
5/28/2015 1:51:07 PM
I've already played it like 70 hours and haven't beaten it yet.
5/28/2015 2:15:20 PM
Wish I had time for these games like I use to. I am afraid to purchase for fear of never getting to fully delve into and play III
5/28/2015 3:27:54 PM
Up til today I thought I'd not like this one bit. Played the first 30 minutes this afternoon and I'm 100% on board. If the rest of the game is this good it'll be well worth my money.

Got this yesterday. Played for about 2 hours last night. Very much enjoying it. I never played Witcher 2 but played a bit of 1. They've definitely improved combat and multiple other things. Visually it's awesome. Not up to par with what they had at E3 but not that disappointing.
6/1/2015 1:31:22 PM
Apparently they dumbed down the graphics so they could release for consoles too?E3 did look better than what I have been running on ultra.
6/1/2015 2:10:54 PM
^ThisPlus I've heard the developer realized they couldn't sustain that level of graphics over the whole game world. Which makes sense given how massive I hear the game is.Whether it's more one option than the other, who knows.Lucked out and it popped into my GameFly queue, so I'll get to try before I buy.
6/1/2015 2:27:35 PM
As someone who didn't see the E3 demo footage, I think the game looks fantastic and I'm running it on Ultra.
6/1/2015 2:47:54 PM
Yeah I mean it's a fantastic looking game by itself. I think some people are upset simply because they took out a few features that they had demo'd at E3.
6/1/2015 2:49:35 PM
Holy shit, I just discovered you can cut someone in half diagonally. This game is epic.Does anyone else on PC notice a slight input lag?
6/2/2015 3:15:29 PM
Try turning off motion blur. That can be one cause of it. V sync can cause it as well. At least the feeling of it.
6/2/2015 3:49:47 PM
I'm not sure whether it's the movement or the camera but some setting is way too sensitive for my tastes.I lowered the right analog sensitivity as low as the UI would allow and it didn't make much of a difference. The tutorial where you run around the castle was a pain, Geralt goes from 0 to 200 mph in an instant.I hope they patch that aspect.
6/2/2015 8:26:31 PM
^ I've had trouble with that also, you cant navigate close quarters easily because of the quick speed. I would expect an easy patch for that though.
6/2/2015 11:47:35 PM
It took me a while to realize that combat is a little more intricate than spamming attack/dodge buttons. I've had a lot more success when I space out and time my attacks. Also, fuck bears..
6/3/2015 9:14:06 AM
I like what I hear about the combat, I usually get burned out with games like skyrim where the combat can turn in to very repititive grind fest, kudos to them to challenging the status quo
6/3/2015 1:11:52 PM
Just an FYI Nvidia Hairworks can kill your FPS by as much as 15-20 FPS. Unless you really like the flowy hair then I'd turn it off.
6/3/2015 6:41:18 PM
^Good call. For some reason that helped a lot and I can't even notice a difference in the hair.Spoiler:Unborn fetus monster, this game is nuts.
6/4/2015 10:21:13 AM
Day off tomorrow...will be binging hard on this game
6/4/2015 10:22:25 AM
^^I'm currently on that son of a bitch right now
6/4/2015 1:14:47 PM
If you reduce the foliage draw distance (or whatever it's called) from Ultra to High it'll help a ton too, and you can't really tell a difference because there is still so much damn foliage.
6/4/2015 1:48:04 PM
^^You know you can complete that portion without fighting at all. After dying 4 times trying to deal with the fetus and wraiths I might take that route.
6/5/2015 3:42:26 PM
I got past the wraiths but now get massacred by the exploding swamp zombies. I was trying to play on hard to get better at the combat and it is rough. I think mapping dodge differently helps, the alt key is kinda awkward to press for me.
6/5/2015 4:58:37 PM
Yeah the alt key is awkward and I keep resorting to jumping which drains adrenaline. My friend said playing on a controller is much better. Going to try the 360 controller tonight. Don't know why I didn't from the start. I usually use a controller for RPGs anyway.
6/5/2015 5:18:01 PM
Finally busted into this over the weekend and I'm digging it so far.Gotta say that playing it on a console is kind of a pain though, just because of the font size. Damn minuscule.
6/8/2015 7:24:22 AM
Using the Xbox 360 controller is a huge upgrade from mouse and keyboard. I couldn't handle pressing ALT every other second fighting the Wild Hunt guy.
6/8/2015 9:13:14 AM
^Yeah switched yesterday. 360 controller is much better. I usually prefer controllers for rpgs anyway.
6/8/2015 10:18:53 AM
Side-quested most of Saturday and I'm still not done with Velen, and I still haven't even begun to scratch the surface of Gwent. Extremely impressed with how much shit there is to do in this game.
6/8/2015 10:21:07 AM
I, too, cannot seem to get out of Velen. This game is almost stupidly massive.
6/15/2015 7:21:53 AM
While all the NPC voice acting so far has been amazing, I feel like whoever did Triss phoned it in.
6/15/2015 9:49:17 AM
How do you people play games like these?I tend to try to play a 'good guy' during one playthrough and the a 'bad guy' the second. Things don't seem to be as clear here though.
6/15/2015 10:02:02 AM
6/15/2015 10:14:32 AM
There is really no way for Geralt to be evil in this game, since he is a predefined character. The moral choices seem to always be "get involved with this human conflict you really are not a part of or don't"So instead of good vs evil it's usually more like emotional vs practical
6/15/2015 11:07:24 AM
I've stopped trying to make decisions on morality and have instead started trying to pick options that will either give me the most interesting story. It's all speculation; I'm not looking up anything outside the game to get an advantage. Reached a point with Velen where I decided I needed a change of scenery and went up to Novigrad. There are still some side-quest things I can go back and do in Velen if I feel the need, but it was just time to move on. Kinda glad I did, Novigrad is pretty cool, even if I want to punch Triss in the side of the head every time she talks.[Edited on June 15, 2015 at 11:18 AM. Reason : .]
6/15/2015 11:18:22 AM
So all these side quests and contracts you get in Velen that are really high level (20-25)...I'm only at level 6 and am doing the main/side quests around that level. Is the expectation that you come back to Velen later in the game and do these quests or that you'll eventually be to that level but haven't left Velen yet?
6/15/2015 1:13:46 PM
I believe so? I think there's some stuff towards the south end of the map that was much higher level than what I could take on while doing the main questline stuff at level 10.
6/15/2015 1:34:22 PM
Does the music change based on where you go? Thats the only thing I dislike about the game so far. That and the inventory/alchemy stuff I don't have the patience to learn in my 1 hour a week of play time. Really is a plus though, depth in an RPG always good.
6/15/2015 1:41:31 PM
^^Just from all the town post board things. I think I even got a level 37 contract in Velen at like level 5.
6/15/2015 2:00:32 PM
There are rare quests and markers that have monsters out into the 20's or more, but the vast majority of Velen seems to top out around the level 10 range. I guess it's designed to be revisited later on.
6/15/2015 2:56:32 PM
6/15/2015 3:50:47 PM
I think it was different in skellige as well.Completed in about 140 hours and only did the racing and gwent sidequests for the most part. REALLY fun game
6/15/2015 3:58:06 PM
So 140 hours with basically only the main quests? Most of the reviews say 50 hours for just the main quests and ~100 hours for all the quests. [Edited on June 15, 2015 at 4:18 PM. Reason : s]
6/15/2015 4:16:31 PM
I finished in ~110 and did pretty much all side quests except horse racing. Plus that included plenty of dicking around and some time AFK
6/15/2015 4:33:30 PM
I hope by some miracle the next Elder Scrolls can look like this. No that I really want to see a fetus monster/those 3 witches with more clarity.980M Can't even run this above 15 fps on Ultra.
6/22/2015 10:24:40 AM
Just when I'm ready to leave Velen/Novigrad I ding another level and a few red quests turn yellow. Does anyone bother crafting anything else other than Witcher Gear? Seriously, that shit is insane.
6/22/2015 10:48:01 AM
I'm still just selling almost everything I pick up. I usually find better gear than I can make, so the crafting mats get sold and if I need to make something I can usually Fast Travel around and buy it.
