can you barbecue a filet without fucking it up[Edited on May 26, 2015 at 11:45 PM. Reason : like is it even possible to do something good bbq-wise with a filet cut of good steak]
5/26/2015 11:43:22 PM
i don't like using "barbecue" as a verb, but..."babecueing" is cooking at lower temps for extended periods of time to make tough meats tender. i don't know of any reason to apply that method to a tender piece of meat, such as a filet.

i realize that when some dumbasses say bbq or barbecue they're just talking about grilling out and not actually barbecueingi'd never do anything with a filet other than toss it on the grill but didn't know if there was some secret shit going on where you can make some bomb ass filet bbq
5/26/2015 11:55:12 PM
i think the idea is, there's no need to bbq a filet, in any sense of the word. Shit's dope on its own.]

yeah, that's the common thought, including my own. just felt like asking the resident expert if he knew of any crazy stuff. because there probably is some way to make filet bbq, even if it's relatively a waste compared to just...grilling a steak
5/27/2015 12:04:12 AM
no, never heard of any methods like that for filethttp://www.bbqbrethren.comif it's been done with bbq, it's on that site
5/27/2015 12:13:24 AM
i always thought you were an http://amazingribs.com/ kinda dude.

i've read a lot of their stuff, but i like the forums at bbq brethrenbut if you spend much time there, you'll be convinced that there's no way good food could come off your cheap grills and that you need to take out a second mortgage so you can install an outdoor kitchen with a half dozen ceramic kamados and that any pizza that didn't come out of a $10k wood fired artisan pizza oven is cardboard[Edited on May 27, 2015 at 12:29 AM. Reason : these specialist forums will really distort your reality]
