Oh please no...IT is still to this day my favorite horror film of all time. It's the reason why I was freaked out by clowns during the entire span of the 1990s. No reason at all to touch it. Besides, no one will ever beat Tim Curry's portrayal.

I don't normally watch movies if I've read the book bc they always disappoint, but Fukunaga did some great work on True Detective and I doubt I'll be undertaking to read It again anytime soon given its length. I may have to make an exception for this remake. Tim Curry was the only part of the tv version that worked in my opinion.

Thought the book was great until we found out it was a huge spider.Thought the movie was great until we found out it was a huge spider.Evil clowns with sharp teeth? Scary. Huge spiders? Not so much.

^Totally agree (with the movie, didn't read the book). I was like this is fantastic, this is fantastic, oh what the hell. I think that is what is most difficult about horror movies. The element of the unknown is scary in its own right. Once you put a face to something, many times it is a let down.

Well, I think King is kinda known for let downs at the end of his books. There are the big ones of course that are good, but a lot of his books, teh end is usually just "wtf." He's one of the best pop fiction writers for character development and story development, but sometimes the ends are just meh.But he could write the YP and I'd still read it, so I can't really complain.

looking forward to this. the book is incredible (although yeah, the ending could of been better), and the movie was pretty good, but definitely had that "made for tv" feel to it in a lot of parts, would be neat to see what they could do with an "R" rating.

Between this and The Stand I'm very excited. Maybe with a rekindling of interest in putting King's works back on screen we can get The Dark Tower into serious production.

Given Marvel's success with multiple platforms, maybe the original idea of spanning The Dark Tower series with both movies and tv shows will come to fruition.

i don't think the ending to the dark tower is that bad, with the exception of Patrick using the same eraser trick on the Red King. It's just not the ending we wanted i know i felt exhausted reading through all those books to only come back full circle to the first book.oh yeah spoilers

what 'same' eraser trick? was it used elsewhere in the series? The only other time i recall reading about PD is in Insomnia and I don't recall that trick making an appearance.
