4/13/2015 3:31:22 PM
Thought the trailer was funny, looking forward to it.
4/13/2015 5:19:03 PM
yeah this trailer is much better than the first teaser, looks awesome.
4/13/2015 6:06:53 PM
The tone seems like a good middle ground between Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. I was a little skeptical of Paul Rudd being cast but now that I see where they are going with it I feel better about the choice.
4/14/2015 4:25:20 AM
I have never been a comic book guy, so I am totally unfamiliar with Ant-Man. I was not interested in this movie as it sounded utterly ridiculous. However that trailer has changed my opinion. I am going to definitely check this out now.
4/14/2015 6:09:04 AM
I just don't know if I can get into this. Seems kinda ridiculous even for a comic book premise. Oh well. I'm sure it will bring Marvel Studios boatloads of cash regardless.But...another special suit, in the MCU? Come on. The MCU is getting awfully crowded with stuff to keep track of.
4/14/2015 8:24:10 AM
Good follow-up choice for having Avengers earlier in the season. Keeps Marvel strong, and looks like it'll be a lot more Guardians in tone, which will be good after Avengers.

superhero saturation?
4/14/2015 9:40:19 AM
I think so. Maybe that is the problem.Iron ManCaptain AmericaThor, LokiHulkFalconBlack PantherAnt ManDaredevilA whole host of specials from the ABC showScarlett WitchSpider ManThanosAnd also, coming up is Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Captain MarvelThat's just a whole lot going on for one little world.
4/14/2015 10:29:10 AM
Right, but so far Marvel has done a great job managing all of them. It is not like all these guys are in one movie together. I will say I'm skeptical for Avengers 2/3 though only because the cast for those is starting to grow substantially.
4/14/2015 10:31:55 AM
that's just a tiny drop in the bucket of all the heroes and villains marvel has
4/14/2015 10:38:18 AM
They're gonna have to write some off. It's the only way. We know it can't be Captain America or Iron Man. Thor has another movie coming up. I don't see any planned for Hulk...so maybe somehow Bruce Banner gets it?
4/14/2015 10:40:54 AM
Don't forget all of the guardians people too that I'm sure will be in avengers 3
4/14/2015 1:19:49 PM
Probably a better conversation for the actual Avengers 2 thread, but I doubt any of the main Avengers bite the bullet in A2. My guess is the group is pretty splintered which leads into Civil War. I doubt any of the Netflix characters will make it into the big movies unless the popularity really takes off.I've heard rumors Avengers 3 part 1 will feature none of the main Avengers, so it would make sense to have Civil War really put an end to the group, before they reunite in Part 2. And if thats the case it allows them to use Part 1 to showcase the Guardians, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Dr Strange etc. [Edited on April 14, 2015 at 1:28 PM. Reason : a]

Oh sure its obviously the same universe, but while the Netflix series or Agents of Shield may be impacted by the movies, I doubt it will ever be the other way around. And I doubt we will see any characters from the tv shows in any of the movies with the exception of maybe a small cameo.
4/14/2015 1:55:51 PM
My gut feeling tells me it has potential to be an epic movie like Iron man I
4/14/2015 2:24:14 PM
The best part of the trailer was the Thomas the train scene
4/14/2015 2:30:47 PM
All are intriguing scenes.

From what I've heard RDJs last confirmed role as Iron Man is coming in Civil War. I don't think he's too interested in renewing his contract after that appearance, so unless they're going to put someone else in the Iron Man suit he'll probably be the first to go.Most interesting proposition to me is to see how heavily they'll factor in SpiderMan now that Marvel has some rights back to it.
4/14/2015 2:52:48 PM
I'd rather see Spider-Man do a crossover with Daredevil or x-men than put him with the Avengers.
4/14/2015 3:25:31 PM
I am pretty sure Civil War ends with Cap dead and Tony retired. But I would be shocked if the original Avengers dont all come back for A3 part 2.

I don't think the MCU is dark enough to "kill" off anyone in top billing
4/14/2015 9:13:20 PM
They've given enough hints that it's going to get darker.
4/14/2015 9:34:19 PM
I don't know...Daredevil is pretty dark. IMHO it is the darkest thing Marvel has put out to date. I watched a Cracked article that made a good point. The MCU needs to kill off someone and do it rather quickly, as death currently has no meaning. I mean look at all the people that have "died" and come back, or at least the movies led us to believe they were dead...Loki, Coulson, Fury, Pepper Potts, Bucky Barnes...I'm sure there's more.
4/14/2015 10:02:10 PM
I keep hearing rumors that Hawkeye will bite the dust sooner or later. I don't think that's significant enough since we still haven't gotten a full backstory on him.

I don't think they will kill off any of their big name characters (ones who have solo movie series), with the exception of possibly Captain America, I could see him being killed at some point and being replaced by Bucky, but only temporarily. They would def bring him back to life, they always come back in the comics. I also think they will eventually recast different actors in the roles as opposed to having different characters take over (with the exception of what I just said- Bucky as Cap before he comes back to life). I've read rumors that Quicksilver doesn't make it out of Age of Ultron, but I don't think that would be too impactful considering we are just meeting him in that movie
4/15/2015 12:04:27 PM
Not that it guarantees one way or the other but as far as I know the only reason people thought Quicksilver might be dead is because in the first full trailer there is a scene that shows everyone except Quicksilver surrounded by robots. In the latest trailer he is visible as a blur, the CGI must've just been unfinished for the first one.
4/15/2015 1:57:55 PM
Looking fwd to this. I am intrigued at the build up of "newer" characters to keep the MCU expanding. Hopefully, they can continue to carry the torch. III

Fun movie! Ties in well to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One thing that really surprised me -- for all of the jokes they had in the trailers about how cheesy the name "Ant-Man" sounds for a super hero, they cut all of that out for the actual movie.Worst thing about it was Evangeline Lilly's hair. I get that they were trying to make her look more like the Wasp but I feel like it was a pretty obvious wig.[Edited on July 17, 2015 at 9:01 AM. Reason : ]

I actually really liked it. Matter fact I like this better than the Thor movies. It wasn't too hammy. It wasn't too serious. It was fast paced. It was to the point. Michael Pena was the best part of the movie. The inside a suit case fight scene was great to me. Stole some shit from interstellar at the end lol. People actually saying comic books movies are getting ridiculous? Dafaq? Stop watching marvel characters comic book movies right now. This isn't the dark knight. They will never be. The more characters the better. Whenever they get to Thaos every character should be fighting him. In the comics all 600 comic characters felt like they fought him. That's the direction Marvel is headed. Get use to it[Edited on July 17, 2015 at 10:56 PM. Reason : Y]

So, does somebody lose an arm or have no arm in this film? This has been a hidden theme in every phase two Marvel movie since Iron Man III. You know, kind of like how the Pizza Planet truck shows up in every Pixar movie.

Sweet. Yeah, so it is basically a homage that they are doing out of respect for the Empire Strikes Back. So, going back to Iron Man III, somebody either loses an arm or has lost an arm before the film takes place.Check it out:Iron Man 3: Stark cuts off the Mandarin's armThor 2: Thor gets his arm pseudo cut off by LokiCap America 2: The Winter Soldier has a mechanical left armGuardians of Galaxy: Groot gets both of his arms cut off by ZoeAvengers 2: Klaue gets his arm ripped off by UltronAnt-Man: IDK, have not seen it yet, but AndyMac has already posted the answer it seems.I think that's pretty cool.[Edited on July 19, 2015 at 3:42 PM.
