Why does everyone shit on food-service industry so much? The last thing I want to do is ridicule people who will be handling my food. Perhaps if you doubt the importance of sanitation and safety required you should check out the high rates of food poisoning and infections caused by untrained food service workers. These people need to feel engaged and proud of what they do or our society will not continue to function.

Relax.

chillaxe, bro

Damn, I didn't know it was so involved. maybe that's why jimmy johns makes their 14 year old employees sign non-compete agreements to work
3/30/2015 2:16:29 PM
I had this one job one time were we all finger fucked this whore on our shift and came out and made sammiches without washing our hands. Thank god tuna was our special that day.UPDATE : soon as I left here I went to WRAL and a 'Finger'hut ad was on display HAHAHAHAHA[Edited on March 30, 2015 at 2:28 PM. Reason : /]

the degree is important. not everyone can do this

The only joke is the 14 year old part. They do/did require non competes.
3/30/2015 2:59:12 PM
Kind of a joke. I don't really think a sandwich artist degree has anything to so with jimmy johns agreement.but they do have a non compete clause keeping workers from getting another job making sandwiches for 2 yearshttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/21/jimmy-johns-noncompete-ag_n_6024056.htmllargely seen as a way to stifle wages for employees, preventing them from going elsewhere for better pay.

It also contradicts the republican stance that starting at an entry level job and working hard will keep you from getting fucked by corporate america.
3/30/2015 3:19:34 PM
with draconian policies like that, if you're an exec at JJ you better hope to god you aren't caught snaggin a subway or quiznos on the way home from the jimmy johns office
3/30/2015 3:20:48 PM
^^republicans prefer to live in right-to-work states where non-competes are unenforceable. Besides, JJ's corporate office would end up spending more on attorneys than the employee would probably make in 2 year.
3/30/2015 3:32:53 PM
Anyone ever worked at JJ?If so, could you please share the text of your non-compete provision? Also some follow-up questions, if I may.To the JJ employee; Are you:Presently posting on Tdub because- you are experiencing a bout of unemployment while your non-compete as a sandwich artist ticks down?- did you major in CHASS?- how has a degree in history prepared you for sandwich artistry?- alternatively, did you get a degree in MDS when you prepared for your career?

i think a lot of service/retail places have non-compete agreements.i had to sign one to work at petsmart when i was in school. granted i think they only enforced it on management/groomers/dog trainers and not cashiers and such.

Q: When you found yourself "training" other dogs, did it make you feel disingenuous and possibly dirty?
