Like any country is going to pay ransom for a black person

I would contribute to EMCEs ransom. I mean, only like 10 bucks, but every little bit helps.

would they truly be 3/5 of a person then?

All I'm saying is that it seems like the brothers and the sisters ain't too keen on putting themselves in precarious situations.

^^The unfortunate explanation would be that they're dying routinely, and presumably nobody cares...therefore it's not worth documenting and showing to the world.

has anyone tried a gofundme to pay a ransom?

And, in all seriousness, I think I get what you're driving at..and it clearly has to do with a lack of black journalists and reporters.Once an outlet has their claws in a black journalist, they really, really don't want to lose them...so it's unlikely they'll be the ones chosen to do the dangerous reporting...even though that's kinda what most of them live for--and it's what could make them FAMOUS. Additionally, there are less black journalists who can front themselves and work independently. So we're looking at a case where the absence of danger/death is technically a bad thing for black people--less fame, credibility, etc... There are other situations like this.Overall, I think there are plenty of black folks who wanna go explore and report about crazy stuff all over the globe; they just don't get as many chances.[Edited on March 1, 2015 at 3:49 AM. Reason : Or maybe non-black people are just crazy and stupid for getting they heads cut off.]
