i'm with the cop on this one
1/21/2015 7:18:28 PM
^^^^Same here. But I was still dumb enough to ask my passenger to move for me."Dude, get my phone.""Uhhh, dude, I also have my hands up at the moment."And then I slowly turned my head/eyes and confirmed that she did have her hands up...also, the most terrified look on her face ever.

My back windows were a little tinted. He thought we might have had a black or a poor back there. Also, he wanted to fuck with some stoned teenagers.
1/21/2015 8:02:53 PM
i think i have a pretty established anti-cop posting history, but if i was on a grand jury i would not charge the officer after watching that video
1/21/2015 8:59:43 PM
yeah, I'm not sure how something could think it a good idea to push their way out of a car after being repeatedly told not to move by officers with guns drawn, especially when they just caught you as a felon with a handgun seconds earlier.I bet the driver was scared shitless though.
1/21/2015 9:07:25 PM
^ not justifying it, but he does say "I'm going to get on the ground." So either he was a liar and was really going to fight the cop, or he was panicked and felt safer outside the car, or just a dick and trying to provoke the already agitated cop.
1/21/2015 9:20:12 PM
1/21/2015 9:26:14 PM
^ that seems to be overstating it doesn't it? He shot at cops once >18 years ago, I don't think that makes him "known" to do it.Obviously he's a troubled individual, but that shouldn't really factor in here.
1/21/2015 9:39:30 PM
the officer that shot him had arrested him previously, so he probably new the felon's past history of shooting officers.
1/21/2015 9:56:51 PM
He shot officers?
1/21/2015 10:03:12 PM
1/21/2015 10:11:22 PM
I'm inclined to feel that this dude was simply crazy. functionally crazy, perhaps, but crazy nevertheless. and there ain't no justifying the actions of a crazy person.it's too bad that his craziness had to lead to his death, but that happens to crazy people sometimes. there's not much the cops can do here. I suppose they don't have to shoot him, but in these situations your training probably takes over. and training policemen to give criminals the benefit of the doubt in life-and-death situations sounds like a terrible idea.
1/21/2015 10:28:23 PM
To be clear, I feel bad for the guy and his people. I don't think 13 years in prison did him any favors, and I don't imagine he had the most guidance growing up if he actually shot firearms at police officers for fun as a teenager. (And this Bridgeton, NJ sounds like no fun at all.)But my standards for grown people--even black people!--involve things like not calling cops "bro" and telling them to relax and casually explaining there's no problem...while an officer has a gun in their face and is screaming at them. I also except grownups to not try to take over their own arrests--by stepping out the car against orders--in some foolhardy effort to save face.He was 36 years-old, guys. And there's a lot to protest there...like all the conditions that could possibly lead to a grown person thinking it's appropriate at all to behave that way in that situation. While I'm at it, if I had to put money on it, I'd bet he's done some pretty bad shit in his life--I'm just saying...this dude really does not make good decisions. Anyway, maybe we should raise our standards for adult behavior just a little bit here.^Yeah, that, too. Dude obviously had a serious problem.[Edited on January 21, 2015 at 10:33 PM. Reason : ]

Since it was a black cop I guess we won't be hearing from Jesse, Al and our very own blackjesus eh? Shame. I bet this young man could have been one of obamas kids too. Where's the justice? All he wanted was to get out of the car, why'd the cop fire his gun so many times?
1/22/2015 8:36:32 AM
i'm not able to tell if that's trolling or not
1/22/2015 8:44:30 AM
So lettuce not conflate the issues here...there is a race issue, as well as a police brutality issue. I think these issues can exist separately, or in conjunction with one another.I bet I would blow your fucking mind if I told you that some black people stereotype other blacks as well.... but it happens.[Edited on January 22, 2015 at 9:01 AM. EMCE isn't black enough, he's whitewashed, etc etc etc. Yes I've heard this and worse from blacks about successful blacks. As usual the spin cycle has started. Person shot by cops, with hands up, and his past is used to justify it. The man stood straight up, made no movement and was shot.[Edited on January 22, 2015 at 9:19 AM. 1/22/2015 9:19:10 AM
visible gun in the glove box, cop tells him not to move, when he says he's getting out of the car the cop says "no you not, don't fucking move" then the guy gets out of the car with pretty quick movements and the cop shoots himam i missing something why that's not justified?
1/22/2015 9:25:23 AM
Sudden movement? He opened the door and stood with his hands up. Am I missing where he flew out the car and reached for his waist?
1/22/2015 9:27:55 AM
he wasn't moving slowly when he opened the door, stood up, and approached the copwhen the cop tells you not to move because they think you are reaching for a gun that they can see, and you say you are getting out of the car and they tell you not to move again, and then you open the door and step out of the car towards the cop that is suicide-by-copam i not seeing or hearing something?[Edited on January 22, 2015 at 9:41 AM. 1/22/2015 9:33:32 AM
1:47 He moved towards the cop? Cop shot him within a second of him standing up, all he did was fall towards the cop after getting shot multiple times.
1/22/2015 9:40:59 AM
are you trolling?
1/22/2015 9:41:40 AM
No I'm anti-cop.
1/22/2015 9:42:33 AM
the cop and the passenger appeared to be playing tug of war with the door for several seconds, and the passenger would have been putting his hands out of sight to reach for the door handle on the inside. doing all that while repeatedly being told not to during a felony arrest would seem aggressive to most anyone.

^^ High school coaches , if you beat someone mercilessly they can always get better. When a cop has his way with you, you die.I condemn anyone that abuses their authority. Not really seeing an issue with this video... but gg moron on trolling. The #1 way to help ensure you don't become a dead victim of police brutality or prejudice is to obey commands.* You may disagree with why someone is in said position, but the reality is, is that once you're in that position, there's only one thing you need to do. Worry about the how and why later.*This is not a guarantee, but typically a very good assurance.]
1/22/2015 2:28:24 PM
^you're not wrong, but that doesn't mean that the behavior of some cops shouldn't be scrutinized and questioned, and more checks should be put in place to prevent unnecessary police brutality. because, there are good cops, but let's face it, a lot are morons and bullies, which really shouldn't be paid with taxpayers' money to serve in positions of authority.[Edited on January 22, 2015 at 2:54 PM. Paralyzed guy in wheelchair rolls up to some cops. Luckily, reason prevailed & the cops only tried to flip him out of his chair onto the street instead of just shooting himhttp://thefreethoughtproject.com/san-francisco-police-officer-caught-cam-assaulting-man-wheelchair-officers/
1/22/2015 4:01:16 PM
^^^It really doesn't matter what you do. Whether you deserve it or not, a cop can shoot you, and most likely get away with it.
