Premieres Sept 8th

is it going to be Colbert or Colbert
1/12/2015 2:36:45 PM
looks like he's using the latter... hasnt been biting yet though...
9/8/2015 11:59:59 PM
been pretty fucking great so farthe set looks like his old one grew up and into a bigger show
9/9/2015 12:20:03 AM
Set a great tone. Met to slightly exceeded expectations knowing that he couldn't be full Colbert
9/9/2015 12:42:10 AM
Seemed like a more mature version of his old show.Def. looking to appeal to the older crowd...he still has a lot of the same character though, which is good.
9/9/2015 1:31:56 AM
Was pleasantly surprised, way better than expected. I feared it would just be the same old Letterman schtick, but it felt way more like comedy central Colbert. Will continue watching.
9/9/2015 8:05:12 AM
the closing jam gave me all the feels.
9/9/2015 8:29:13 AM
Thought it was well done. Really enjoyed the Trump/Oreo segment. I think he did well with the interviews. It was kind of weird seeing the guest walk to him.
9/9/2015 10:32:19 AM
Kendrick Lamar just absolutely destroyed
9/10/2015 12:41:04 AM
I like how Kendrick was his last musical guest ever on the Colbert Report and his first musical guest ever on the Late Show.
9/10/2015 8:26:36 AM
enjoyed Colbert because he's Colbert. I thought the set and the show music were pretty subpar, but maybe that's just me vs some of the audience they are going for.
9/10/2015 10:23:24 AM
Scarlett Johansson interview seemed a little awkward, not sure why.
9/10/2015 7:31:54 PM
first two shows have been entertaining....not really a huge fan of late night shows to begin with, but i've always liked Colbert. while I'm not a regular viewer of late night shows, i could definitely see myself watching this when i happen to be up that late.
9/10/2015 9:43:17 PM
I've enjoyed the first two shows but I feel like I see too many Letterman mannerisms from him during the standup portion
9/10/2015 9:56:06 PM
such as?I ask because of all of the things Letterman is known for, his monologues are looooow on the listand I'm not sure I could even come up with a Letterman mannerism (as it relates to his monologues)[Edited on September 10, 2015 at 10:14 PM. Reason : .]
9/10/2015 10:11:00 PM
Trump on the 22nd!
9/10/2015 10:58:39 PM
^^^ i didn't watch too much letterman, but I did notice colbert make some weird noises during his monologue, and he was kind-of bouncing around a bit... didn't seem "natural" to me.
9/10/2015 11:06:48 PM
probably because it isn't natural to him. he's not a standup.
9/10/2015 11:32:33 PM
that Biden interview was amazing
9/11/2015 12:24:23 AM
You can tell there are still some parts of the show that need polish and practice. The intro standup part still feels a little awkward, as does his interactions with the band. I also don't like how he does the voice-over during the tilt-shifted title sequence; it doesn't sound good. The interview with Scarlett did seem a little weird, but the Biden interview was amazing. We'll see how Amy Schumer goes tonight..[Edited on September 11, 2015 at 8:23 AM. Reason : it doesn't good]
9/11/2015 8:23:15 AM
i think he missed an opportunity to rename the show to The Colbert Rapport

9/11/2015 3:03:04 PM
really liked the biden interview
9/11/2015 9:23:30 PM
i thought the first episode sucked. will continue to dvr and hope it gets better. i miss craig ferguson. he should have gotten this gig.
9/11/2015 10:29:53 PM
WRAL cut the Paul Simon performance?!?!?!?!?!
9/12/2015 12:57:05 PM
Someone hit the wrong button.
9/15/2015 11:17:14 AM
9/22/2015 3:05:04 PM
I have really enjoyed his interviews with politicians and whether he aligns with politically or not he gives them their chance to speak. It was also refreshing to see him quiet the crowd before they got too out of hand.
9/22/2015 3:37:06 PM
^ For sure, but he did interrupt Cruz more than others, which didn't bother me at all http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/09/ted-cruz-finds-few-late-night-laughs-with-colbert/406657/
9/22/2015 4:25:16 PM
I hate Cruz. I can't imagine his way of talking is natural. I think it is all faked theatrics. Absolutely can't stand it.
9/22/2015 4:35:37 PM
I felt like Colbert's interrupting of Cruz came from when he thought Cruz wasn't going to answer his question and just ramble on about a talking point.
9/22/2015 4:42:41 PM
Exactly. I wish that in a debate or interview, the interviewer had an air horn, and when the person started to dodge the question, they would blow it.
9/22/2015 4:50:55 PM
Trump is on tonight. Should be a good interview.
9/22/2015 10:51:30 PM
The hunger games bit was vintage colbert
9/22/2015 11:51:59 PM
Trump doesn't seem to get flustered. That's an appealing leadership quality for the majority of voters who don't do hours or days worth of research.[Edited on September 23, 2015 at 12:20 AM. Reason : and damn I thought Trump's hair was bad]
9/23/2015 12:19:08 AM
This John batiste guy kinda creeps me out. It's like we're supposed to know and bond with him but he's...distant. Anyone else get that vibe?
9/25/2015 1:20:48 AM
he's from New Orleans
9/25/2015 1:23:10 AM
^^That first week, he never said more than two words at a time. I think that bit about his book was to get him more involved with the show aside from the music. Can't tell if they're trying to get them to talk more between each other a la Dave and Paul.
9/25/2015 3:35:37 PM
His southern accent is poking through more than it did with his character. He says Y'all if he's talking to multiple people at once.
9/27/2015 1:02:09 AM
His The Hungry For Power Games bits are hilarious
11/19/2015 1:25:20 AM
this is hands down the worst current late night offering.
11/19/2015 8:18:45 PM
that distinction clearly goes to Seth Meyers
11/19/2015 8:30:34 PM
wonder how much Comedy Central's ratings have dropped since they went from Stewart and Colbert to whats-his-name and Wilmore
11/19/2015 11:08:35 PM
^^ obviously. i like seth myers, but that show is turrible.
11/19/2015 11:24:53 PM
what do you find terrible about it?it's a completely different show from what it was during its first year
11/19/2015 11:28:04 PM
why because he starts the show seated instead of standing?
11/19/2015 11:40:44 PM
they stopped doing as many bits with the writersand replaced those bits with good interviews with authors you don't normally see on late night talk shows and a Closer Look, which is the most consistently great thing out of all of the talk showshe's also gotten much better as an interviewer there's more to it than sitting as opposed a standing monologue. it's not a monologue anymore, it's a Weekend Update-type desk piece, which is what he's really, really good at.[Edited on November 19, 2015 at 11:51 PM. Reason : Closer Look]
11/19/2015 11:48:29 PM
i was hoping you were going to say they got rid of walking fecal matter fred armisen, but i see that's not the case. at least they put a better focal point in the band and stuck him the in the corner.
11/19/2015 11:58:00 PM
set em up
