Or is it a different category of food/cuisine etc I’d argue yes, it is a sandwich.

12/25/2014 8:57:49 AM
hahaah(i had to look up telophase)Nice!
12/25/2014 9:03:40 AM
I, too, think that it counts as a sandwich
12/25/2014 11:16:46 AM
This dumb motherfucker didn't know what telophase is.
12/25/2014 5:53:47 PM
No because it's not on two slices of bread or a bun that's been sliced all the way in half.
12/25/2014 6:23:19 PM
That's the dumbest definition of sandwich I've ever read.Yes, a hotdog qualifies as a sandwich. So does a lobster roll, everything subway served when they used to do the V-cut of their bread, most meatball subs, etc.
12/25/2014 6:44:35 PM
sure, it's a sandwich.is a burrito a type of "wrap" or is a burrito, and other similar foods, in a separate category?while they are very similar in construct, presentation, and style - i can't exactly explain why, but I feel that tacos, burritos, and other similar foods are separate from wraps. but i could be persuaded otherwise
12/25/2014 6:53:19 PM
Hot dog:sandwich::tomato:fruit
12/25/2014 8:46:17 PM
what about when I put my meat near your mother's fur burgeris that a sandwich?
12/25/2014 11:55:16 PM
I'm inclined to say "no," but the sub sandwich analogy makes it difficult for me to maintain this position. So, yes.Wait, though. Is a taco a sandwich? 'Cuz structurally it's very much like a hotdog, only the bread is crunchy. And how about a soft taco? One could argue that the taco does not have two distinguishable "slices" of bread, but is just a uniform shell, I suppose. ]

There are actually rules on what is and is not a sandwich for purposes of taxation and other things. This has actually been debated heavily. Also, wraps, tacos, burritos, all have had to be determined to be a sandwich or not.
12/26/2014 10:29:12 PM
Well don't leave us hanging. What was their conclusion?
12/26/2014 11:00:27 PM
Is a brussel sprout technically a cabbage?
12/26/2014 11:02:50 PM
According to the New York taxation authority - yes.
12/26/2014 11:11:06 PM
Thanks. Now for another deep question: If you take a slice of pizza and fold it while eating it, does it become a sandwich? Is a calzone a sandwich?
12/26/2014 11:53:46 PM
I'd say no. The pizza was pizza before it was folded, now it's just folded pizza. And a calzone is actually a pie.
12/27/2014 4:20:56 AM
pizza is an open-face sandwich
12/27/2014 5:59:33 AM
Hot dog? Yes.Corn dog? No.
