So I was taking a shower and elected to perform a snot rocketHoly shit, this very large booger/mass came out in a huge pile. I don't know how long it had been building. Now I am breathing deeply and so much more clearly. I am also more relaxed and sleeping better at night. Is there such a thing as just shooting out a massive fucking snot rocket and changing your life? Dr. Tdub help me out!

yep!

sometimes when I get a reallllllly bad cold, there will be like a mass of mucus in the back of my sinuses that after I'm getting over the cold just stays there. After a while, i'm able to suck it out and it comes out in like a ball of snot/boogers/blood. Its terrible but when it happens, its so freaking refreshing.
12/15/2014 4:13:21 AM
This could improve my current status immensely
12/15/2014 7:42:01 AM
The burning question is: how did it taste?
12/15/2014 11:21:53 AM
That's the thing, my sensory awareness of the volume, texture, and content of this release was deceived. It tasted, smelled, and felt like nothing. Then it just came out like a shale deposit had been struck through the core on the face of a cliff. It was quite analogous to the undermining of a cliff face with a massive release of deposited sediment, including mucous and dead skin cells. It just seemed to unleash on the floor of the tub.No pain, nothing. Wish that this would happen more often. Perhaps I had a blocked airway and didn't know, and the body self-corrected. No surgery required. Was wondering if anyone else had ever experienced something so prolific. This was no ordinary snotrocket. This was the body shooting sediment out of the air passage.Slept like a baby last night.

sounds like you may have just avoided some painful surgery/incredibly awful sinus infectionI've done something similar I believe. Not on this apparent scale but dramatic nonetheless.Felt like a whole new airway had developed out of nowhere. For a while everything had a very sharp semi-metallic odor. Felt kind of "raw" for a while.Everything smelled like what I imagine those facehuggers feel like after they've just popped out of their eggs.
12/15/2014 12:01:10 PM
^ no "metallic" odor, but definitely feels like "a whole new airway out of nowhere"amazing, mother nature is amazingstill feeling great
12/15/2014 2:38:16 PM
I've had similar, but it was short lived. had surgery to do it permanently and it's definitely life changing
12/15/2014 9:04:49 PM
Jesus, what the hell is wrong with you people?
12/16/2014 7:30:30 AM
ugh, I wish I could do something like this
12/16/2014 11:22:48 AM
one time I had a nose bleed and the next day I blew my nose and there was a dangler, so I pulled it out and a three foot long blood clot came out. weirdest feeling I've ever experienced. once I pulled it, it all came out under it's own weight
12/16/2014 11:31:37 AM
you didn't take a picture of that??
12/16/2014 2:41:54 PM
I am still having residuals (like massive boogers each time I blow my nose)I am thinking it could be recovery some some sort of long term sinus infection where I just finally killed whatever the hell bacteria was in my nasal passageway and now I am just clearing out everythingThis thread has been very therapeutic for me, and I am still breathing great. It also picked up my performance at the gym this morning (go figure - less effort breathing)
12/16/2014 2:43:36 PM
you need to go get some neilmed sinus rinse and start using it. eww
12/16/2014 2:44:45 PM
12/16/2014 3:09:15 PM
this threat almost makes me want to get waterboarded.almost.
12/16/2014 3:23:07 PM
^well excuse me for discussing boogers in a thread titled "Massive Shower Booger Clears Airway"I suppose that discussing boogers was both unexpected and unanticipated when you elected to read entire said thread that you apparently object to
12/16/2014 3:28:14 PM
No, I mean that shit would wash the hell out of my sinuses and nasal passages.
12/16/2014 3:34:26 PM
Valid point.Perhaps the CIA should do a follow-up report concerning the frequency of boogers and mucous encounters their agents would experience in the course of waterboarding. This would only be, of course, prepared and stored so that the Senate could later then release it in the event of an unfavorable election cycle.[Edited on December 16, 2014 at 3:37 PM. Reason : Duke and I are both ex-mil, Tdub, we actually get along therefore. Nothing to see here, folks.]

No lie, this sounds fucking awesome.
12/16/2014 4:03:12 PM
You people need to teach me how to do this magic snot blowingDr claims I can have surgery to deal with this chronic drainage, nasal whatever, but I DON'T WANNA
12/16/2014 4:08:41 PM
^ absolutely dudeand thus is the origin of so much I have wondered growing upconcepts like "how did people get splinters our of their palms a thousand years ago before tweezers were invented? They got splinters back then, right?" Same concept! The body will react and purge splinters.Similarly, how did people fix nasal issues a thousand years ago? MASSIVE SNOTROCKETSSo My Tips are as follows (because I have been trying to recreate the things I did leading up to the new airway):- I actually for whatever reason had consumed as shitload of vitamin C in the 24 hours prior to posting this thread - (I didn't realize that until later) - take a lot of vitamin C- let the shower steam loosen up your nasal passageways etc., it was literally like the face of a cliff suddenly had a defect in it and sediment began sliding- exercise (I had actually sweat a shitload in the gym prior to that shower)I think combined with vitamins, Vita C especially (I take that Emergen C stuff sometimes), a lot of sweat, and the right amount of steam in a hot shower, you can suddenly dislodge a clogged sinus without even meaning to....I suppose this all sounds like wive's tales, but holy shit this never happened to me before* consult a physician before taking any medical advice on the internet

you should check out one of these units. I think mine was ~25 at CVS
