I don't mind that requirement.I do mind it when you can't have a password longer than 10 characters, or you can only use certain special characters, or none at all.

you can't use a word in your password, and you have no problem with that? I've got to go all 12 year old girl leet fuckshit with 3s and 1s and 7s and shit. I'm not going to remember that shit and it's no more secure than a well planned dictionary word password.[Edited on October 15, 2014 at 9:41 AM. Reason : .]

Dictionary based brute force attacks are literally one of the oldest hacks in the book.Is "Passw0rd" really too difficult to remember?

^We're not talking about using a word. Just using words in your passwords.

I have always found it best to come up with a sentence you will easily remember and go with the first letters or what not of said sentence. For instance:Wtfitprs#s!?1Why the fuck is this password requirement so fucking stupid!? 1
10/15/2014 10:25:37 AM
why do you have the # in there? it doesn't seem consistent with your scheme as the word fuck is represented by "f" and fucking is represented by "#"I like three or four five-letter words followed by a number and a special character.[Edited on October 17, 2014 at 9:27 AM. Reason : ]

Eh I forgot I added the !? at the end there you could take those out I suppose or replace the # with F. You usually have to have a stupid special character in there and thats how I used to get mine in there replacing a word with #.Wt#wtPCw?1Why the fuck wont this PC work? 1

When people tell me they don't use a password manager I'm like "you know the stone age is over, right?"
10/17/2014 10:01:48 AM
a what?

You could always use names based off of fictional characters, like Legolas or Mxyzptlk.

easiest workaround for all these is using athletes

stringing together several dictionary words is both accessible and secure.
10/17/2014 9:29:30 PM
what if I just make my password "boobs69687"I bet that's pretty secure...it would be pretty hard to crack that via brute forceI don't understand these security-freaks who choose (or insist on) passwords like "ArGHx72R0b0t". I mean, if you're a bank manager logging into the bank's website, okay; but it seems like gross overkill in most cases.this "not contain a word found in the dictionary" shit, and the general insistence on security overkill, exasperates me.
