I wonder what kinds of costs are associated with a stunt like this, and how much of those costs this guy is going to have to pay back.
10/9/2014 8:05:31 PM
he shouldn't have to recoup a damn thing for the airline overreacting. Enterovirus and the flu SHOULD be a much bigger concern to Americans. But whatever.
10/9/2014 8:26:34 PM
it's not the airline's fault. my guess is that they've been ordered to report even the tiniest hint of Ebola ASAP. if the stewardess ignores him, she puts her own ass on the line. and she can't be 100% sure he's lying.this dude is just a fucking idiot.
10/9/2014 8:48:51 PM
I hope he goes to jail, gets raped, catches AIDS, and dies of a secondary Ebola infection!
10/9/2014 9:20:26 PM
because anyone who has been anywhere in africa prolly has ebola. the airline is the joke here.
10/9/2014 9:33:56 PM
Is this where we post when we have ebola or when we're waiting to get it?

I'll be honest, it's got me nervous. Not nervous about ebola, but about the overreaction. I'm coming to the US from West Africa in a month. I do NOT want to spend my vacation in a pointless quarantine.
10/14/2014 6:34:24 AM
Also, we should start to acknowledge that the nurse is hot, Asian, and a nurse.
10/14/2014 9:50:12 AM
no thanks, we don't need to be misogynistic assholes about a nurse who caught ebola while doing her job

10/15/2014 7:03:27 AM
I'm surprised that none of Duncan's family members contracted it
10/15/2014 7:29:12 AM
Just imagine if this thing wasnt "extremely difficult" to contract
10/15/2014 8:35:25 AM
Considering that none of the people he lived with have it, and only nurses who worked with his blood in an apparently incompetent hospital environment, maybe your "quotation marks" are inappropriate. If it weren't difficult to contract, Lagos would be on fire.
10/15/2014 10:07:48 AM
I guess my point is they had been going on and on about how no one in the US should be worried we have such great healthcare systems if a case pops up it will be isolated and wont spread etc etc. You have trained people caring for someone with a high mortality rate disease so one can only assume they would be extra careful and yet healthcare workers and doctors continue to get it. Up until now they had been blaming the conditions and medical equipment not up to par over in Africa which we can all understand, but now its being transmitted in 1st world countries including the US which has to make you assume its a little easier to contract than what people have been saying. If nothing else it shows us that the world is not as prepared as we thought to dealing with something that is supposedly difficult to contract so just imagine if this was something more easily trasmittable what kinda shit we would all be in.I hope they dont ruin your vacation, but at the same time I have no problem with them putting in much tighter restictions to travelers from that part of the world until this thing is under control.
10/15/2014 10:22:02 AM
no one in the US should be worried, that's still true. take a step back from Fox News.
10/15/2014 10:26:54 AM
the thing is actually under control
10/15/2014 10:30:32 AM
10/15/2014 10:57:05 AM
All fair points and hopefully that is all this is is just a failure of the system. It is just a bit worrisome that people would be so lax with something that could become such a huge problem.

http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN0I40UE20141015?irpc=932If this is true who the fuck thinks it is fine to allow someone with known contact to get on a god damn plane? Are all of those not monitored by the CDC or anyone really to make sure they dont do something ridiculously dumb like that?[Edited on October 15, 2014 at 1:18 PM. Reason : .]
10/15/2014 1:15:42 PM
That plane has already made several other flights without any more than a usual "vacuum the carpet" cleaning. Hundreds of potential infections. Far too many to track at this point.

10/15/2014 1:24:59 PM
the pitiful serfs are usually talking about the average person who hasn't been exposed to ebola
10/15/2014 1:32:26 PM
Shit has hit the fan in Texas. Massive FBI response collecting belongings from the homes of most hospital employees, ordering the deletion of social media accounts, etc. The hospital itself will likely be used exclusively as a quarantine from this point forward. Perhaps a half dozen other health workers are already symptomatic but awaiting positive test results before media is notified.[Edited on October 15, 2014 at 1:40 PM. Reason : It sounds like they are afraid of hysteria and mass evacuations at this point.]
