At least once a year
9/26/2014 8:20:07 PM
When I switch jobs. We'll see about the new one.
9/26/2014 8:41:40 PM
Every year. Significant, every other year or so, but I expect that to slow since reaching the level I'm currently at.
9/26/2014 8:48:58 PM
1% guaranteed every year on top of another 2-4% that's performance based but pretty much a given. Every 1-2 years I get a pretty significant promotion/raise (20%).
9/26/2014 9:07:33 PM
big election years.

Started at my software company in November 2010. Got a 10% raise ~18 months later (mid 2012). Got a 36% raise from that 12 months after (mid 2013). Got another ~20% raise 12 months after that. Making 80% more as of August 2014 than I was when I started in November 2010. I've been transitioning from position to position the last ~4 years rather than advancing in a single position so that helped me out.

Yearly based on performance, plus a few other raises due to pay grade interviews, changing departments, promotions, and a recent relocation. I'm making about 50% more now than I was in 2010 when I started there.

9/27/2014 12:15:50 PM
no more than one per year, depending on when we schedule our promotionsmight get a slight cost-of-living bump once a year
9/27/2014 12:16:53 PM
Sister asked me for advice for salary negotiations for new job.Is 5% per year the standard raise? Trying to remember old jobs and that seemed eight, but not sure. (Not including any specific performance related raises or bonuses)
9/27/2014 12:24:02 PM
Once per year if the economy can handle it.And usually a big one due to promotion every 3-4 years. That will probably stop tho in 8-10 years as I will have peaked without getting an MPA, moving or switching carreer paths... Of course I'll also be making great money by then.
9/27/2014 11:06:46 PM
I usually get 3-5% a year.
9/27/2014 11:09:34 PM
30% every other year, but was performance based. Then got a new job making 2x as much.
9/28/2014 2:04:04 AM
I got 3.1% this year, and I think we usually get one every year once you have your annual review (though it's up to the County Manager/Commissioners). I think some COL adjustment is sometimes factored in whenever it's warranted. After 7 years, we start getting a bonus at the end of the year (but it'll be another 6 years before I see that )
9/28/2014 10:31:09 AM
it's sporadic.i've had three raises in the same year before, and then gone a couple years without one. on average i think it works out to every 18 months or so, and the amount is all over the board. Right now it's been a year and a half since my last raise, but since we laid off 6000 people, i'm a get some of that extra money we're saving...
9/30/2014 4:34:20 PM
at least once a year but my largest salary increases have been due to taking new positions. I'm making 210% of what i was making three years ago
9/30/2014 4:53:49 PM
once per year in my hire month. Salary has risen 5 grand in 3 years.
9/30/2014 4:55:51 PM
I'm making 180% of what I was making almost 4 years ago. I guess that sounds better than saying I'm making 80% more than I was making.
9/30/2014 4:56:12 PM
Been at this job ~1 year. Got a raise 9 months in...but that was also a promotion/new position. So I'm not sure if you'd really count that as a raise. Assuming I stay in this same position another 3 months, I'll get a raise.
9/30/2014 4:58:47 PM
Yeah good point. Raise <> new position really.
9/30/2014 5:05:06 PM
Seriously? A chit chat thread about raises without a single erection joke?

I got two in ~5 years at my old job. The first was an annual raise less than a year after being hired. Then for three years they blamed the economy on not giving anyone raises. Then I got promoted and was given a raise to around where I would have been in my old position if I'd gotten yearly raises along the way. Womp womp.
10/1/2014 4:07:50 PM
Once a year, actually about to kick in this month
10/1/2014 4:13:40 PM
