I feel like UPS is overall a better service, but FedEx is better when it come to two day or overnight shipping. What do you think and are there any specifics you use one over the other?

I'm more familiar with UPS...for work we do all our shipping through UPS. I don't really have any complaints about UPS.

i hold FedEx stock (FDX) and it's performed decent-to-well for me, but it seems that far more places offer UPS as a shipping option.

The ups driver around here is a cool old dude. The FedEx drivers are dumb fucking shits.

+1 for FedEx comming through on next day, two day. But I noticed ups was cheaper on regular ground 3-5 day delivery.

^That is my experience.I just started selling some dust-collecting shit on ebay. UPS has attempted to fuck me multiple times.I guess that's the danger of franchised stores? idk. Also the fedex near me is 24 hours and has computers and printers.[Edited on August 25, 2014 at 10:17 PM. Reason : .]

i realize you weren't serious about butt sex. but i have little knowledge of business/franchising/etc., so i was making a baseless assumption on why i've had bad experiences at multiple UPS stores, and I wasn't sure if you were making fun of the connection I made/implying that franchising has nothing to do with any of this, which may be accurate.I'm overANALyzing.

USPS is getting ready to pwn UPS and FedEx
8/26/2014 8:40:56 AM
Unless they lay off like half of their completely inefficient/outdated/redundant workforce, they won't be pwning anyone any time soon.

IMO...Care of packages - FedEx, I've never received a damaged box or item. Can't say the same about UPS.Timeliness of delivery - Tie. I've had packages delayed from both.Cost - UPS, I found it to be cheaper here in Asheville at my particular address. It really depends on where you live. The drivers differ, the management differs, the routes differ, and the like. All of which affect your experience. Overall, they are comparable. I prefer FedEx, even though they are more expensive for me. My packages are better cared for.Plus, my brother used to work at the UPS sorting facility in Raleigh, and he's shared a few horror stories. It's like someone telling you that employees at a certain restaurant spit in the food. You'll just never eat there again.

For me:FedEx - important letters/documentsUPS - most of what I get damaged is the fault of the shipper, some of the S&S stuff I get is usually too loose and it's going to break the box in transit. My only real complaints involve the UPS store when I absolutely had to use them in a crunch and suffered their markup. USPS - eBay and most recently I did a 1-2 shipping upgrade from an item from California and it got here the next day. Depending on what you're shipping these may be a better option if you're doing the FedEx/UPS options that dump it off at the post office and add an extra day. Also, this:

^ heard the same thing. That's awesome for us if it works out. 98% of our outgoing packages are sent USPS (5 lbs or less) , with UPS for the heavier stuff. Easily 75% of our shipping is done online USPS First Class with virtually no issues.
