I get online and check the wake county tax website and im confused when it's due:Current Due: If Paid By 01/05/2015 $1,547.38Due Date: 09/01/2014Interest Begins: 01/06/2015So it's due next month or january? totally confused.

Pretty sure it is due in September...they put a lien on your house in January .Sources: http://www.wakegov.com/tax/realestate/Pages/default.aspx

They want you to pay it by 9/1/14 but won't fine you until 1/6/15 if you don't pay

Your mortgage company will probably pay it in December if it is escrowed, since there is no penalty until January and no advantage for paying it now.

^Correct. (Words) I was also warned by lawyer doing closing documents to keep a good eye and check on the first tax payment goes through to your county correctly and on time. He said if the mortgage company is going to miss correctly paying the tax bill on your behalf out of escrow it was most likely to be on that first payment when all the initial paperwork is being cut. Call them if it gets close to the deadline and still no payment because even if its their fault you are still the one liable to the county to pay your tax bill. Pay it out of pocket, once the mistake is fixed or if they just end paying the tax bill late then the county will send you a refund check for the credit. The End

It's current if it's paid by 1/5/15. Which means it's due 1/5/15.
