I want to go back to NCSU and walk around and stuff. Life after college sucks. Post photos and make me feel like I am back and flying saucer and just thinking about how I don't want to fail calculus

Looks like you need to go back to elementary school and learn how to form a sentence.
8/5/2014 2:30:26 PM
^^I agree. I just miss the fact that everyone lived within close proximity to me, and that everyone had TIME to do fun things. I also miss my metabolism and the ease of meeting new people / women.
8/5/2014 2:38:32 PM
Agree. Let's form this

Go back for grad school, act like an undergrad.
8/5/2014 2:53:48 PM
Me too.
8/5/2014 3:04:20 PM
^^grad school feels nothing like college. most of the people there have full time jobs or are married. you'd have to go back and creep around and make friends with undergrads or something, but you're obviously too old to be in undergrad.
8/5/2014 4:30:14 PM
lol i had just as much (if not more) fun in grad school vs undergrad.

I feel like college now wouldn't even be the same as we remember it. They didn't even have Facebook until my last year of college. People were just starting to get cell phones and nobody sent text messages. AIM was the big social thing at the time. During my freshman year, I would often leave my cell phone back in my dorm room just because I didn't want to be tethered.
8/5/2014 5:18:14 PM
I didn't have a cell phone and Zephyr was the big new thing (which was basically AIM for unity, you could instant message people in other computer labs across campus!). And the internet was slow as hell.
8/5/2014 5:23:24 PM
^^Don't forget starcraft and the dorm networks
8/5/2014 5:28:19 PM
^^I remember zephyrs! I used them in my E115 class to send messages to my friend from high school who was in the same class/time but a different section.^I actually played Medal of Honor: Allied Assault a ton over resnet.
8/5/2014 5:34:36 PM
we played Age of Empires over the network

I think we are all pretty lucky we were able to grow up and have a childhood in which smartphones didn't exist

there's a group for people who would like to go back to being 20 year olds that partied every day, it's called everyone

I plan on going to get me MS after I get settled in my new position. My company reimburses up to $10000/ year for college expenses. I'm taking the GRE this November woo hoo

I am going back to college, sort of. I am a little over 10 yrs out of college and have to retake quite a bit of science classes for PA school. Sigh...I came to terms with it, but I think it'll be worth it.

I remember playing LAN games of Halo 1 in the dorms and endless grinding of Meph in D2.

I only ever want to go back to college for a few reasons:1) everything is a head of you. you have all the time and energy you need to make your life anything you want. 2) no responsibility. let's face it, even if you have classes + job, your responsibility is far less in undergrad. that shit is money.3) the women. the percentage of women i see at work is far less than those in and around campus. Actually, i probably miss 21 - 24 more. Because it was the same as the above but with money.Outside of that I enjoy my life and who I am now far more than who I was then. I've had a great life since undergrad that has taught me a good many things. If anything, my real want is to be in undergrad again as the person I am now.

I had way more fun in grad school than college- mostly because I knew what I was doing, I knew the people in my program, my schedule of mid day classes that only met once a week was awesome, and I wasn't entirely broke. Working at a university now and dealing with college kids makes me really glad I'm no longer a student.
8/7/2014 1:34:56 PM
I miss those days of Halo on resnet as well, I felt like I got my nerd on quite well during that time. One of the few things that brought everyone (10?) in our Tri-Tower suite together the first few years.

I am currently going back to college. That is if NCSU will let me.they say I need to pay them money, but they already turned my ass over to collections a looong time ago.Fuck if I'm paying both of them

Bottom floor of Owen in '98. There was a guy named Big Mike on our hall that would always have movie nights, and we'd cram like 25 people into his room to watch movies. Fun times. Really great year, but I know if i went back, it just wouldn't be the same.[Edited on August 7, 2014 at 9:10 PM. Reason : ada]

I think one of the main reasons I drop in on this site from time to time is the nostalgia of being an undergrad
8/8/2014 9:37:34 AM
Can I go back and only have a desktop computer and leave AIM running 24-7 with an away message up.
8/8/2014 7:42:32 PM
Id go back just to bang freshies

I probably miss the first couple years of college the most. Living on campus and being within walking distance of my friend's dorms, the gym, food, class, and places to go for fraternity/house parties was awesome. Moving out towards Trailwood for my last 3 semesters was one of the bigger mistakes I think I made in college - should've gotten a house somewhere near Hillsborough.

Anyone in research grad schools has a full time job. Many teachsand assist their professor full time in addition to grad .
