Would put this in Lounge, but it will get more traffic here.Simple questions:1. Are you Christian currently?2. What denomination?3. If you answer "no" to #2, could you briefly describe what makes your church unique doctrine wise. Please be specific. "We differ because we follow the KJV only and don't take blood transfusions" is an appropriate example. "We just follow the Word of The Lord and love others" is vague.Thank you for participating in this unscientific experiment. As for me:1. Yes2. Catholic3. n/a

1. I suppose, I never really think about it often or care to.2. Not sure. Never went to church regularly growing up, and if we did it was usually Baptist.3. Don't know, I don't go to church.

You setting yourself up. Like I said, TWW don't believe in GOD, He Zeus, Miracles (including 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team), Ghost or any supernatural phenomenons. But we do believe that our Athletic Department will rise again![Edited on July 24, 2014 at 11:41 AM. Reason : .]

1.) no2.) grew up methodist, though3.) i liked my church growing up...most people seemed accepting (for example, our church accepted homosexuals as "regular" people and had a pastor that was an open lesbian without any sort of backlash or massive drop in attendance)^ i'm sure the OP knows all of that...it's always a slow day on TWW [Edited on July 24, 2014 at 11:42 AM. Why would someone answer No to #2? It's not a yes/no question.ITT we learn that Catholics fail at logic?

There are nondenominational churches, which is what I assume he meant. For me, 1. No.
7/24/2014 11:45:22 AM
Yes, there are Christians who claim no denomination, but attend a "nondenominational" church that still has many unique doctrines that one may say are actually the hallmark of a denomination. But thanks for playing.

1. Yes2. No 3. I believe that Jesus will return next month and turn water into barbecue sauce as he leads our football team to victory against all foes. He will feed the multitude of tailgaters with a single 4 piece supreme dinner with dirty rice, iced tea, and a biscuit. All losses to UNC will be forgiven.

^ Campus Crusade member spottedAnyone know anyone at that "Vintage" church? I'm still trying to determine how open they are about how truly fundamentalist they are.
7/24/2014 3:56:27 PM
i think they are capitalist christians preaching the same message with hip music, but i may be confusing them with another hip modern cool urban church
7/24/2014 4:03:39 PM
I'm gonna start a denomination called "Cool Urban Church"
7/24/2014 4:11:08 PM
1. Yes2. No denomination. I go to a Church of Christ3. We don't teach any "man made" doctrines or creeds. We teach only what the Bible teaches and try to follow the example of first century Christians as shown in the Bible.
7/24/2014 7:13:37 PM
Is it bad I always use the word 'sect' instead of 'denomination'[Edited on July 24, 2014 at 7:44 PM. Reason : 1. no]

I have a relationship with Jesus Christ and I believe that he died for my sins, if that's what you're asking.
7/24/2014 10:55:06 PM
If really appreciate if some of you people with less common denominations would expound on what doctrines make you unique."We follow the bible as written" is as vague as saying "we have a relationship with Jesus." Tell me about your stances on the issues. I know so little of you people.
7/25/2014 8:52:07 AM
it's idolatry to have a strong adherence to the bible. the bible is just a book, it shouldn't be worshiped.
7/25/2014 8:57:42 AM
1. Not really2. Grew up in a Southern Baptist church (forced to be at chruch every single Sunday), but didn't believe 90% of what was taught. The other 10% is just common sense/courtesy.

7/25/2014 12:24:39 PM
bunch of Mary-worshipers.
7/25/2014 12:34:22 PM
The catholic worship of Marry, and the fact they they do not believe in salvation through faith alone, make catholicism not christian
7/25/2014 12:34:23 PM
not sure if being trolled, but Catholics don't worship Mary
7/25/2014 12:56:39 PM
Mary is the mediatrix (Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 969); Mary made atonement for the sins of man (Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma, page 213); Mary is the subject of preaching and worship (Vatican Council II, p. 420)[Edited on July 25, 2014 at 1:01 PM. Reason : but the second part of the above is the bigger deal]
