So I understand that they are generally not worth it, but I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for an aftermarket vehicle warranty. My sister can not afford a new car, but she is the type of person who really needs a warranty. She's rough on cars and bad on maintenance and can't really afford large repairs because she's decided to enter the world of academia instead of something that actually pays a living wage. Endurance and Carchex seem to be popular (with mixed reviews), anyone have any experience? She's gotten quotes in the ~$2k range which is a waste of money for most but worth it for her.[Edited on July 4, 2014 at 4:12 PM. Reason : .]

you think it's worth it. problem is very rarely will the company pay a claim. they will most always pin it on driver abuse. the warranty isn't worth the paper its printed on.
