Does anyone still really use these mother fuckers? Seriously, I have a box of these little shits I've been trying to give away for the past 3 years. When people give me their cards, they just end up in the mother fucking stack on my desk, never to be touched again. Its just easier to swap goddamn email addresses, amirite?I think its just an outdated custom, and status symbol (though I don't know why....not like those things are expensive)

I get one and give one out every time. I staple it to the physical job folder so I can always find the information if I look up their job.[Edited on June 4, 2014 at 8:28 AM. Reason : j/k, i have a vault of them in my house and go swimming in them like scrooge mcduck]

i've wanted to make ones with working leds and whatnot, but never got around to it since I never seem to network

I give out and use them all the time...so, yes.

I have them. But I'm a nanny and would hand them out at the park when I heard people discussing nannies and babysitters.

holds much more importance in other cultures but agreed that there should be a better system

Mine have a QR code on the back so people can just add my contact info into their phones]

it's easier for me to just hand someone a card rather than sit there and spell out my email address. it's also easier for someone to just hand me a card with all their info and then i can create an outlook contact for them when i get back to the office. i work with a lot of contractors and field type guys so i just keep a few cards in my wallet and hand them one instead of looking for a piece of paper to write my number and/or email on and it eliminates some chances for errors in the process.i like for folks to give me a card. i try to enter folks i actually work with into my contacts list, but i keep the cards in a stack with a rubber band around it and sometimes i have to revert back to it.

yeah, business cards are still used all the time in my industry and are necessary. trying to trade contact info without them would be a pain.
6/4/2014 9:31:34 AM
people who work meaningless office jobs should not have business cards
6/4/2014 9:33:20 AM
Working in the wireless industry, I just put my name and number in my customers' phones. This is mainly because like 90% of business cards end up lost or in the trash. I do also have business cards though, because a lot of old school customers still ask for them.

I agree with having a card, but putting a QR code on the back so they can add you as a contact without all the typing.

^^ Plus if I do follow-up calls they are more likely to answer if they see my name pop up versus just some random number coming in.

My company gave me 500 cards. I carries about 2 or three in my wallet. I use it all the time for lunch where some places have the "drop your business card for free lunch drawings".

i need to buy a card holder, the corners get crunched if i put them in my wallet
