Once you get in line, there is no way to turn around. At least that was how it was when I drove into canada.So, as soon as you cross the border, you turn around, but then you have to go through customs again.

It was late at night, he took a wrong turn and was in the wrong lane, and when he realized what was going on, he couldn't turn around...besides it would be like trying to turn around in a DUI checkpoint - there's a good chance they'll come after you.He stated he had the guns, and they were legally obtained, yet he's being detained in one of the worst Mexican prisons.

I don't see how you get that far off course...If he is taking I-10 from FL to CA, unless he screwed up going through El Paso, there is a solid 5+ mile gap between any I-10 exit and the border.Even the I-8 branch to San Diego as a pretty solid buffer from the freeway to the border.
